Structured data is highly specific and is stored in a predefined format, where unstructured data
is a conglomeration of many varied types of data that are stored in their native formats. This means
that structured data takes advantage of schema-on-write and unstructured data employs schema-
on-read.
Common examples of applications that rely on structured data include customer
relationship management (CRM), invoicing systems, product databases, and contact
lists. Unstructured data includes various content such as documents, videos, audio files,
posts on social media, and emails
Data module: Data module is a collection of multiple data sets.
Dataset: Data set is a collection of multiple rows and columns.
IBM Cognos: IBM Cognos tool is used to analyse and visualize data in reports and charts form.
IBM GUI (graphical user interface) : It contains 4 components upload data, prepare data,
exploration and present data.
Upload data: It’s used to upload data from external environment to IBM Cognos tool.
Prepare data: Its used to prepare data module by using uploaded datasets from external
environment.
Exploration: Its used to analyze and visualize data in charts form. It contains various charts in various
categories.
Present data: Its used to present data in reports form. It visualize data in dashboard and story form
also.
