Section A: Basic Probability (12 marks)

1. A bag contains 5 red balls, 3 blue balls, and 2 green balls. What is the probability of drawing a blue ball?

2. A die is rolled once. What is the probability of getting a number greater than 4?

3. A card is drawn from a standard deck of 52 cards. Find the probability of drawing a King.

4. In a class of 30 students, 18 are girls. If a student is selected randomly, what is the probability of selecting a boy?

Section B: Compound Events (16 marks)

5. Two coins are tossed simultaneously. What is the probability of getting exactly one head?

6. A bag contains 4 red marbles and 6 white marbles. Two marbles are drawn one after another without replacement.
What is the probability that both marbles are red?

7. A die is rolled twice. What is the probability that the sum of the numbers is 7?

8. From a deck of 52 cards, a card is drawn and replaced, then another card is drawn. What is the probability of

wins at least one prize? (Assume each ticket has equal chance)

14. A box contains 8 defective and 12 non-defective bulbs. Two bulbs are selected at random without replacement. Find
the probability that both are non-defective.

15. In a group of 50 people, 30 speak Hindi, 25 speak English, and 10 speak both languages. If a person is selected at
random, what is the probability that the person speaks Hindi or English?

16. A bag contains 5 white, 7 red, and 8 black balls. If one ball is drawn at random, find the probability that the ball
drawn is not black.

17. The probability that it will rain today is 0.6. What is the probability that it will not rain today?

18. A spinner is divided into 8 equal sections numbered 1 to 8. What is the probability of landing on a prime number?

Section E: Advanced Problems (12 marks)

19. Three coins are tossed together. Find the probability of getting at least 2 heads.

20. A bag contains 6 red and 4 blue balls. Three balls are drawn at random without replacement. What is the probability
that all three are of the same color?

21. From a well-shuffled deck of 52 cards, two cards are drawn one after another without replacement. Find the
probability that the first card is a King and the second is a Queen.

22. A committee of 3 people is to be selected from 4 men and 5 women. What is the probability that the committee has
at least one woman?

Section F: Application Questions (8 marks)

23. In a survey, 40% of students like cricket, 30% like football, and 15% like both. If a student is chosen at random,
what is the probability that the student likes cricket or football?

24. A number is chosen at random from the numbers 10 to 30 (inclusive). What is the probability that the number is
divisible by 3 or 5?
