Problem 1: Parallel Combination
Resistors of 3, 8, and 24 are connected in parallel across a 12V DC supply.
Solution:
1/R_eq = 1/3 + 1/8 + 1/24 = 12/24 => R_eq = 2
Current in each branch: I = V/R
I1 = 12/3 = 4A, I2 = 12/8 = 1.5A, I3 = 12/24 = 0.5A
Total current = 4 + 1.5 + 0.5 = 6A
Problem 2: 5, 15, and 10 in parallel. Source = 20A
R_eq = 1/(1/5 + 1/15 + 1/10) = 2.727
V = IR = 20 * 2.727 = 54.54V
Currents: I1 = 54.54/5 = 10.91A, I2 = 3.64A, I3 = 5.45A
Power: P1 = IR = 595.5W, P2 = 198.9W, P3 = 297.5W
Problem 3: 10 and 15 in series across 30V
R_total = 25, I = 30/25 = 1.2A
Voltage: V1 = 12V, V2 = 18V
Power: P1 = 14.4W, P2 = 21.6W
