Software Engineering Intern – Job Description

Job Title:
Software Engineering Intern

Location:
Hyderabad

Duration:
6 months

About the Team:


We are the IT & Software Engineering department at Garmin building scalable and
innovative digital solutions for internal and external users. The interns will work closely
with experienced engineers, and get a chance to join a team of software professionals who
all work together to achieve the best results for our customers. They will be working in a
dynamic and agile environment surrounded by people with a pioneering spirit and passion
for challenges.

Responsibilities:
• Developing API’s, which are scalable, supportable, and reliable that service the entire
Garmin ecosystem
• Write clean, maintainable, and documented code
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues under supervision
• Work with mentors to meet learning goals and project objectives
• Maintain documentation of code, processes, and learnings

Skills & Qualifications:


• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
• Basic understanding of software development concepts (OOP, data structures,
algorithms)
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative team environment
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have (optional):

• Exposure to Git, OpenStack, kubernetes or VueJS
