Sections covered in Interview

Following are the sections covered in the interview and what the applicants are supposed to
show:
IDENTITY CHECK

 Applicants must have their passports as they will be checked prior to beginning the
interview.
PROGRAMME AWARENESS

 Applicants must be aware of the name of the course, the duration, the awarding
body, the fees, and the modules that have caught their eye to choose it.

 Applicants MUST NOT come up with memorised or rehearsed responses.


PROFESSIONAL & ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

 Applicants must be able to talk about their academic background – why they chose
their BAs they studied and how it aligns with the chosen course (for those who have
finished their high school, talk about their favourite subjects and how these have
motivated them to choose the programme they want to study with us).

 Applicants must be able to talk about their professional background (if any) and show
how this aligns with the chosen programme.

 Applicants must be able to refer to the skills they have gained from their academic
and/or professional background and how these skills will help them succeed in the
course or in their future goals.

 Applicants MUST NOT come up with memorised or rehearsed responses.


GOALS & HOW THE PROGRAMME WILL HELP ACHIEVE THOSE

 Applicants must be able to show why they chose the course and how it will help them
improve their lives.

 Applicants must show the skills they expect to develop and these skills will help them
succeed in their careers, as well as achieve their goals.

 Applicants must be able to show a clear and solid plan for their future.

 Applicants MUST NOT come up with memorised or rehearsed responses.


MEASURING THE APPLICANT’S VALUE TO THE INSTITUTION

 Applicants must show why their acceptance will contribute positively for the
institution.

 Applicants must be able to show how their acceptance will become an asset to our
institution.

 Applicants MUST NOT come up with memorised or rehearsed responses.


VISA & IMMIGRATION

 Applicants must show how much they have researched about the place they have
chosen to study (cost of living, rent, regular expenses, etc).

 Applicants must be able to compare the places they have researched and show why
the destination chosen is better than the others.

 Applicants must indicate whether they intend to work or not in their chosen
destination.

 Applicants must talk about their plans regarding covering for their expenses in case
they decide not to work whilst studying.

 Applicants must be able to discuss other courses in other places and show why the
destination chosen is the best option for them.

 Applicants must be able to talk about their plan B in case they are not accepted by
us.

 Applicants must declare whether they have been refused a visa in the past or not,
and who will be sponsoring them.

 Applicants MUST NOT come up with memorised or rehearsed responses.
