Tagore's Noble winning legacy
Rabindranath Tagore is one of the most respected people in the
Indian culture. People lovingly call him Gurudev. He was
multitalented , he wrote many poems, novels, and plays, and he
also used to do painting. He used to think deeply about society.
Even though he worked in so many areas, poetry always remained
closest to his heart.

In the year 1913, Tagore became the first person from outside
Europe to win the Nobel Prize in Literature for his famous book
Gitanjali. It was really a proud moment for India because it showed
the world how rich and creative Indian literature is. From then on,
people all over the world began to pay more attention to Indian
writers and their ideas.

He believed in the freedom of thought and imagination and in


closeness with nature. Later, he founded Visva-Bharati , an
unparalleled school where learning was done in an open
environment where the students could interact with the nature, it
was aimed to make a person better. His works are still inspiring
readers, artists, and students today. And thus, his legacy lives on
forever.
