REMOTE KEY LOADING(RKL)
Remote key loading is the process of installing keys into a remotely located device from a
central administrative site. The keys related to Encryption/Decryption are loaded in POS without
any manual intervention and can be loaded directly at merchant location as well. Following
are the major benefits of RKL:-
1) It’s Universal, i.e. can be implemented across various POS manufactures and various
models.
2) It’s Secure, i.e. a central RKL host communicates with Airpay POS Secure via secured
session, as well as the data transferred from Airpay POS to Airpay POS Secure is secured
via SSL along with a specific data encryption algorithm.
3) It’s Cost Effective, i.e. in case of Key getting corrupted at merchant, the cost associated
with bringing back terminal, re-injecting key and dispatching the terminal back to merchant is
reduced.
APP UPGRADE AND REMOTE KEY LOADING
1. Upgrading the Application:
- Merchant will get app upgrade pop up as usual, and merchant needs to update the app.
2. Pop up for Firmware upgrade:
- As soon as app upgrade happens a firmware check will happen, and merchant must connect
to Akshay to get this sorted. Firmware version depends on the OS version of POS viz:-
- For Android Version 6 firmware version should be
A910_PayDroid_6.0_Leo_V07.1.24_20220627
- For Android version 7 firmware version should be
A910_PayDroid_7.0_Leo_V07.3.08_20230524

3. Pop up for whether to move to RKL:
- After the app is upgraded and started the merchant will get a pop up as below wherein he
will be asked for consent if he wishes to migrate to RKL. User needs to select Yes. Even
if user select No he can still proceed with his transactions but every time when the devicecomes
on idle screen the Pop up will come up.

4. Key Loading Check:
- After the self-test, the terminal will check if the key is loaded. If the key is not loaded, the
terminal will display the following pop-up: "Key is not loaded onto the terminal. Click OK to
proceed with the Remote Key Load (RKL) process."
5. Merchant Configuration:
- Click the OK button on the above pop-up. The application will display the Merchant
Configuration screen. This screen will auto-populate with the existing details.

6. Proceed with RKL:
- After entering the Merchant Configuration details, click the Proceed button to initiate the RKL
process.
- The terminal will communicate with the HSM system to inject the keys.
- Note: Do not interrupt the key injection process.

7. Successful Key Injection:
- Upon successful key injection, the terminal will display a message confirming the successful
key load.

8. Completion and Restart:
- The terminal will display a pop-up: "Acknowledgment sent successfully. Terminal will
automatically restart shortly."
- The terminal will restart automatically to complete the process.

9. Ready for Transactions:
- After the restart, the terminal is ready for transactions.
If there is any error during this process wherein its mentioned as “Please contact Airpay Admin.”
then in such case the merchant needs to contact Call Center or Akshay Jadhav according to the
process finalized

FRESH TERMINAL PREPARATION AND REMOTE KEY LOADING
1. Install the Application:
- Download and install the latest application version from Maxstore portal on the Pax A910
Terminal.
2. Initial Setup:
- Once the application is installed, the terminal will perform a self-test. Basic settings will be
configured automatically.

3. Key Loading Check:
- If OS is not as expected then Terminal will pop up for Firmeware upgrade or else after the
self-test, the terminal will check if the key is loaded. If the key is not loaded, the terminal will
display the following pop-up: "Key is not loaded onto the terminal. Click OK to proceed with
the Remote Key Load (RKL) process."
4. Merchant Configuration:
- Click the OK button on the above pop-up. The application will display the Merchant
Configuration screen.
- Enter the Merchant ID and Terminal ID.

- Note: If the Merchant Configuration details have already been set from Management Settings,
this screen will auto-populate with the existing details.
5. Proceed with RKL:
- After entering the Merchant Configuration details, click the Proceed button to initiate the RKL
process.
- The terminal will communicate with the HSM system to inject the keys.
