In our times, and in our history, we call heroes those who have
distinguished by his extraordinary deeds and by his greatness of being elevated more
beyond the fulfillment of their duty; to those who sacrifice everything they have and have.
valen, at the service of the Homeland.
Nuestra Patria ha sido una verdadera cuna de héroes.
To understand what true heroism is, it is necessary to admire it in all its reality.
the glorious deed carried out by the 'Heroic Children of Chapultepec'. The Cadets of
Military College of Mexico, which defended Chapultepec Castle in 1847, were
beyond the fulfillment of their duty.
In light of International Law, military schools are considered as NOT
COMBATANTS. Moreover, some of the Cadets were barely children when the
American army commanded by General Winfield Scott began the attack on the
Chapultepec Castle on September 13, 1847 General Monteverde, Director
the Military Academy ordered the Cadets to leave the Castle, the site of the
School, and that they would reintegrate into their families. The Cadets refused
abandoning their school, fully aware that their determination implied the
to sacrifice their lives and, they united along with the advancing death, to write a
of the most glorious pages of our history, so rich in heroic deeds.
It is important to emphasize this very important fact, which is why we will mention the most
significant names of that battle against Yankee imperialism, of the
which we remember for their value and courage, that led them to write in letters of gold their
names in the pages of the history of the Mexican Nation, how grateful, the
remember.
(Return with the images of the child heroes: by first grade students).

Let's say HE DIED FOR THE HOMELAND after hearing each of their names.
Cadet Juan de la Barrera (Died for the homeland)

Cadet Francisco Márquez (Died for the homeland)

Cadet Vicente Suárez (Died for the homeland)

Cadet Fernando Montes de Oca (Died for the homeland)

Cadet Agustín Melgar (Died for the homeland)

Cadet Juan Escutia (Died for the homeland)
