1.
INTRODUCTION
The system that involves is known as buying and selling transactions is known as an online
shopping centre. Such as transactions primarily involve electronic product, including
computers, cell phone, printers, scanner, photo copiers, and another electronic device. The
majority of Ethiopia’s retail centres currently employ a manual technique to sell the products.
Customers can shop online and goods to shopping cart website. Anytime the like, they may
examine what’s in their shopping car add or remove product as they please. This technology
provides a payment system and automatically determines the product’s overall cost. This
technology provides a payment system and automatically determines the product’s overall
cost. This website facilitates the majority of online purchasing for you and allows for online
management. The consumers can the entirety of significant transactions safely. Here, the
consumer can experience shopping by adding the desired goods to her basket in addition to
having the option to add many items in bulk before making a purchase. The session
management process is used for all options. Prior to making a purchase, the consumer must
register in order to guarantee their authenticity. As result we will use structure, modular, and
menu-oriented interfaces to try our best to make the complex process of the online E-
commerce shopping system we wanted to investigate in this project as simple as feasible.
We’re going to construct won’t have any trouble using this bundle and what easy extension is
available in the future. The major goal of this project to make each client and seller active in
an automated or computerized fashion rather than manually, even if we cannot claim this
effort is totally exhaustive.
1.1 Background of the project
Chamber of Commerce was introduced to Ethiopia for the first time in 1943. The need for its
establishment basically emanated from the economic crisis occurred during that time. The
establishment of the Chamber of Commerce was seen as a solution to address the distribution
of scarce commodities such as cotton, yarn, and woollen products. Members of the Chamber
of Commerce were allowed to distribute those scarce commodities to stabilize the market.
The concept Market and Service Directory system is taken from the concept of market
resource management. Marketing Resource Management provides the software infrastructure
to support Marketing Operations, Marketing Operations is the alignment of people, process
and technology to support online marketing activities and improve marketing effectiveness.
The outcome of this project will serve a vast number of users by easing the task of getting a
quality service for the amount of pay provided, since the system will provide an optimized
result with delivery option one will not have to go around service provider’s and market
places manually.
1.2 Project overview
The central concept of the application is to allow the costumer to shop virtually using the
internet and allow customer to buy the items and articles of their desire from the store. The
information pertaining to the product are store DBMS at the server side (store)
1.3 Existing system
The current shopping system does not offer goods or products online and does not have
banking to system enable customer to pay for their purchases. Additionally, there is no
procedure or awareness of how to prepare a report or receipt. The only produce the shop’s
daily profit by selling and buying goods for their customers is the retailer’s primary activity.
The current method of shopping involves physically going to the store, choosing the item the
customer wants from the selection, and purchasing it by paying the item’s price.
1.4 Statement of Problem
The current system is entirely manual in term of all operations. The customer relies entirely
on the manual method to purchase the goods. The manual method requires time. And when a
consumer walks in for a manual purchase, in reality, he or she has no clue about things like
price range, product, etc. the amount of time a customer spends manually shopping can be
equivalent to many purchases. A customer can browse in a matter of second while sitting at
home. As result, we must switch to a “online e-commerce shopping system”.
1.5 Objective of the project
1.5.1 General objective
This project design main goal is to build and create an online E-commerce shopping system.
1.5.2 Specific objective
The following particular goals must be attained in order for us to achieve the above
objectives.
To control online payment
To save time, cost and also man power to analyze and collect Information,
An additional and better list of categories that are beneficial for both the admin and
the customer
Observing how the existing system is taking place
Upload the product
To advertise product by online
Transaction will be carried on time
To satisfy customer with the service
Analyse the existing system
1.6 Methodology of the project
1.6.1 System development methodology
System development methodology is a way that is used to structure plan and control the flow
of developing an information system. For this project we used object oriented software
development methodology.
The main reason behind using OOA is:
Object are easier for people to understand
Object are derived from the business that we are trying to automate
Date and process are kept together the main reason we decide to use the object
approach
Code can be reused easily this means we are constantly looking for object that would
be useful the system. Even if when a new system has minor difference, we are much
more likely to able to change our existing code to fit.
1.6.1. Method for data collection
For the purpose of identifying the issue and comprehending the current system, we primary
data collection techniques.
Interview: - Interviewing the shop’s owner, its seller, and some customer is the most
effective way for us to learn the most vital details about the shop’s overall perception.
Have you any computerized system?
Do you have an items list with their destination and price?
What is the problem of the current system?
How many employees you have?
We receive comments from the people, and they all agree that the existing system is utilized
manually, which implies that all activities are carried out according to an agenda. The system
becomes complicated, time-consuming and redundant.
Questionnaire: This approach to learning everything about a system by creating a
questionnaire. Both open ended and closed ended are employed. The suggested individual
response in writing.
Document analysis: - Through gathering data about our project title from many references,
and websites, as well as by consulting with project team about issues.
