b The distance between a fixed straight line and a fixed point is 40 mm.
Trace the path of a point P moving in such a way that the ratio of its
10M CO1
distance from the fixed point, to its distance from the straight line is 2/3.
Name the curve. Draw normal and tangent.
OR
2 a Explain various types of conic sections. 4M CO1
b Construct a cycloid, given the diameter of the generating circle as
10M CO1
40 mm. Draw normal and tangent to the curve.
3 a State the quadrants in which the following points are located: 4M CO2
A- Its front and top views are above xy.
B - Its front view is below xy, and top view is above xy.
C- Its front view is above xy, and top view is below xy.
D- Its front and top views are below xy.
b A line AB 80 mm long, end A is 25 mm above H.P and 30 mm infront
of V.P. The line is inclined at 30° to the H.P and 40° with the V.P. Draw 10M CO2
the projections of the line.
OR
4 a Draw the projections of the following points on the same reference line 4M CO2
keeping the projectors 20 apart:
A- 40 mm above the H.P and 50 mm infront of the V.P
B- 40 mm below the H.P and 50 mm infront of the V.P
C- 40 mm below the H.P and 50 mm behind the V.P
D- 40 mm above the H.P and 50 mm behind the V.P
b Draw the projections of a circular lamina of diameter 40 mm resting on
a point of the circumference on HP such that the lamina is 30° to HP and 10M CO2
perpendicular to VP.
5 a A triangular prism base 25 mm side and axis 40 mm long, One of its 4M CO3
