1 Objective
• This research project aims to consolidate various concepts covered in the course.

• It provides an opportunity to apply these concepts to real-world problems.

• The project is designed to be open-ended, allowing for exploration and creativity.

2 Deadline
• 29th November 2025 11.59pm

3 Team
• You may work individually or form groups with classmates.

• Group size is limited to a maximum of SIX members.

• Since you can always form a one person team, free-riding complaints will not be enter-
tained.

• If submitting as a group, it is assumed that all members have contributed equally.

• Only one member needs to submit the project if submitting as a group.

4 Report
• Prepare a concise written report presenting your findings.

• Include your name and student ID on the first page of the report.

• For individual submissions, the page limit is one A4 paper (both sides).

• The page limit is proportional to the group size. For example, in a two-person group,
it would be two A4 papers (both sides).
• Marks may be deducted if the page limit is exceeded, but it is not necessary to use up
the entire limit.

• The report must be submitted for plagiarism checking using VeriGuide.

• The report should be in PDF format.

5 Recommended Format
• Begin by describing the topic you wish to work on and briefly explain its significance
and interest.

• Provide a description of your data, including tables, summary statistics, and graphics
as appropriate.

• If using publicly available data, cite the source. If collecting your own data or con-
ducting a survey, include the necessary details and append the questionnaire.

• The main focus of the report should be on statistical analysis, including estimation,
hypothesis testing, ANOVA, and regression (not all are required, choose as applicable).

• Your grade will be based on the correctness of your analysis, the interesting nature of
your topic, and the clarity and professionalism of your report. Make efforts to present
the report in a visually attractive manner.

6 Appendices
• Appendices are excluded from the page limit.

• Appendices should be in PDF format whenever possible.

• Include a data appendix describing the data source or data collection process. If
conducting a survey, attach the questionnaire and other relevant details.

• Prepare a technical appendix containing the data and step-by-step calculations. In-
clude any EXCEL/R/Python files used.

• Combine all appendices into a single zip file.
