HYDROSTATIC TESTS

INTRODUCTION:
Hydrostatic tests are included in the
non-destructive testing and specifically in those of
hermeticity.
The hydrostatic test is a non-destructive test.
through which the physical integrity of a
pipeline or system where water is pumped to a
higher pressure than the operating pressure and it
maintains that pressure for a set time
previously which varies according to the length of the section to
to try.
BACKGROUND:
Non-destructive testing has been
practiced for many decades. It
it has been recorded since 1868 when
work began with systems
of tests to guarantee that the
the system will work at 100% in
operating conditions, from there
different methods emerged to
to notice anomalies one of
they are the Tightness Test
known as PH (Test
Hydrostatics), in order to verify
the integration physical, chemical and
mechanics of a system for the
start-up.
Development of the Topic:
In the hydrostatic test, the tightness and
installation resistance.
To conduct the test, the following are needed:
Low and high pressure pump.
2. High-pressure hose and quick connections.
3. Manometers of different scales to record the pressure
to which the system is subjected.
4. Pressure Chart Recorder or
Thermograph that records the temperature.
5. Thermomanometer to graphically record in it
equipment pressure and temperature.
Instrument Used:
High and Low Pump
Pressure.
Instrument Used:
High-pressure hose and
Quick Connections.
Instrument Used:
Differential Manometers
scales.
Instrument Used:
4) Graphic recorder of
pressure or Thermograph.
Instrument Used:
Thermomanometer.

Development of the Topic:
This test is applied in
containers that will be used
with pressure both in his
construction as along
of the life of the container
depending on its category,
in accordance with the Regulations
from Pressure Devices.
Hydrostatic tests are
really important in the
pipes because with them it
check the quality of these.
Hydrostatic Test:
Hydrostatic Test:
1).-Verify that the
manometers are calibrated.
Hydrostatic Test:
The container to be analyzed must be placed and located at
in such a way that deformations in the tank are avoided when
moment of filling with water.
Hydrostatic Test:
3).- The instruments and all the flanges must be placed.
and the threaded parts must be sealed before the test.
Hydrostatic Test:
4). The hydrostatic tests will be carried out in the presence of the
quality inspector of the factory and/or the representative of
ASME.
Normativity:
Regulations:
Hydrostatic Test:
At least one gauge must be placed on the
highest part of the container and a valve must be placed.
of cutting between the tank and the instruments.
Hydrostatic Test:
6).- The equipment needed for the test is as follows:
Pneumatic pump, Compressor.
During the start of the test, the tank can be filled with
pipe water or with a supply of water from the network of
manufacturer.
Hydrostatic Test:
Hydrostatic Test:
Verification of pressure required for the test.
Hydrostatic Test:
8).- Monitoring pressure against time.
Hydrostatic Test:
9).- Justification for termination of the test.
Hydrostatic Test:
10) - Tank Emptying.
Test Report
Carried out:
11).- Preparation of a
Report with the factors
found.
Hydrostatic Test:
12).- Normal continuation of the operation of the equipment.
