WHAT IS CO2 LASER?

CO2 LASER is a technology (Kumar Patel, 1964) that is

characterized by emitting rays with a wavelength of 10.600 nm
strongly absorbed by tissue water.

The emission of this laser produces boiling and vaporization of the

water due to rapid warming, and this is responsible for
to provoke the ablation and denaturation of proteins
(collagen)

This exothermic reaction releases heat, causing the 'effect

"residual thermal" that stimulates collagen creation.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE FRACTIONATED?

The fractional photothermolysis method (Manstein and Anderson,

2004) is developed to provide effective results and without the
disadvantages of other techniques for skin rejuvenation.

LASER DEPTH

The depth of the injury is determined by the

amount of energy configured and absorbed by the tissue
of the patient

APPLICATIONS

Protocol for facial treatment:

• Application of 2.5% lidocaine and 2.5% prilocaine topical cream or application of

lidocaine 2% without epinephrine injectable 1 hour before the treatment.

• Parameters considering square 20 x 20 mm:

• Power: 8 W (8 to 15 W)
• Residence Time: 1.0 ms
• Interval Time: 1.0 ms
• Point Spacing: 1.0 mm
• Scan Mode: Random

• End Point: Area with inflammation, marking of the applied points and even
you can see bleeding points
APPLICATIONS

RECOMMENDATIONS

Use:
• Cold compresses
• LED light
• Sunscreen
• thermal water

• Never use alcohol or alcohol solutions

POST TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

• Use or apply gotu kola (1 to 3 days) depending on the feeling.

of ardor.
• Apply the regenerative cream of your choice in a tapping motion.
(Bepanthol, Cicaplast, or Aquaphor by Eucerin) every 2 to 3 hours
while the peeling process occurs.
• Creams with Vitamin C, Tretinoin, and Acid can also be used.
Glycolic
• Avoid any product with alcohol
• Use sunscreen factor 50 or higher
• Do not expose yourself to the sun during the peeling period.
• Do not manipulate the scabs.
• Do not use makeup during the peeling process.
POST TREATMENT EFFECTS

• Edema, the most affected area is the periorbital region the next day and it
presents up to 2-3 days after the treatment

• Erythema: All patients present erythema after treatment and the

intensity depends on the configured parameters

• Hypopigmentation: Very rare and can appear 6 months after the

treatment

• Hyperpigmentation: Very common mainly in phototypes IV and V, it presents

during the first month. Sun and heat exposure should be avoided because
increase the reaction

• Itching: Very common but it's important to pay attention as it can also
it can be secondary to infection from scratching the wounds

• Scars: Uncommon
PULSE MODE

Pulsed Mode–3D

• Condylomas - Warts

In the case of warts, it can be applied

between 3-5 watts with movement
circulars. (Victoria Prada, 2020)
The surgical mode is activated continuously to
an intensity of 15 to 20 Watts.

• Urogenital Syndrome
• Vaginal Rejuvenation
• Sclerosing lichen

The vaginal wall has four different

layers (epithelial mucosa, lamina propria,
muscularis and adventitia), it is an environment
rich in water, which helps to improve the
collagen of the same, stimulating the
formation of new vessels to improve the
vascularization of the vaginal tissue, which
leads to the formation of new collagen.
