Chapter: 2 SYSTEM REQUIREMENT STUDY
2.1 Feasibility Study
A feasibility study was conducted to determine the viability of the Chatbot LearnAI
project. The study concluded that the project is technically feasible, as the necessary AI and
NLP technologies are mature and readily available. Operationally, the project is feasible as
it addresses a clear need for interactive academic support. Economically, the cost of
development and deployment is manageable and justified by the potential benefits to
students.
2.2 Requirements of Project
The key requirements :
The system must be able to accept text, voice, and image inputs.
It must utilize AI and NLP to understand user queries.
The chatbot must provide accurate and relevant responses.
The user interface should be simple and intuitive.
The system must be scalable to handle a growing number of users and queries.
2.3 Tools & Technology
Programming Languages: JavaScript
Frameworks/Libraries: [Link](Framework), Tailwind CSS and React (Libraries).
Database: Local Storage
APIs: Google AI API ,Firebase Authentication API: for user authentication,Web
Speech API: for text to speech,Media Devices API: for microphone and camera

CHATBOT LearnAI
3.1 E-R Diagram
This diagram shows the relationships between different entities in the chatbot's database.
It defines key entities like USER, CHATBOT, MESSAGE, and CONVERSATION,
and illustrates how they are connected. For example, a USER sends a MESSAGE, which
is part of a CONVERSATION, and the MESSAGE itself contains an INTENT
recognized by the system.
3.2 Use Case Diagram
PIET-DS CE Page | 4
CHATBOT LearnAI
This diagram visualizes the system's functional requirements from the perspective of
different users. It shows a User's interactions with the chatbot, such as initiating a
conversation, sending messages, and rating feedback. It also outlines the responsibilities
of an Admin, including monitoring user activity, updating the knowledge base, and
managing user accounts.
3.3 DFD Diagram
PIET-DS CE Page | 5
CHATBOT LearnAI
This diagram illustrates the flow of data within the chatbot system. It shows how a user's
query is processed by the Natural Language Understanding (NLU) module, which
extracts the user's intent. This information is then passed to the Dialog Management
component to generate a response, which may involve calls to external APIs and a
knowledge base lookup.
3.4 Activity Diagram
PIET-DS CE Page | 6
CHATBOT LearnAI
This diagram maps out the flow of actions and decisions within the chatbot's process. It
begins with receiving user input, then checks for validity before generating a response.
It also includes decision points for handling invalid input or when more information is
needed from the user, leading to different actions like requesting clarification or ending
the chat.

3.5 Class Diagram
This diagram outlines the system's structure using object-oriented programming
concepts. It depicts the main classes, such as Chatbot, DialogManager, and
NaturalLanguageUnderstanding (NLU), and shows their relationships. For instance,
the Chatbot class has methods to process user input and generate responses, working in
conjunction with the DialogManager and NLU classes.

Chapter: 4 IMPLEMENTATION
Our chatbot is AI-powered learning assistant. It features a multimodal chatbot capable of
providing detailed answers, complemented by dynamic tools that generate quizzes and
practice exercises on user-specified topics. The system includes a robust user management
and gamification layer, tracking user progress through points, badges, and a leaderboard to
enhance engagement. All of this functionality is unified under a clean, intuitive user
interface that saves and organizes personal study guides for easy access. The
implementation combines conversational AI with structured learning modules to create a
comprehensive educational tool.
