Learnings from the session...
It is essentialto have a clear definition of the problem
resolver:problem + complexity + impact.
TheCreative thinking allows you to create alternatives of all kinds, for
stranger than these may seem.
Thevisual thinking facilitates understanding and communication
the situations.
Theabductive reasoning allows exploring possibilities not
identified with the issue to be solved. (think differently)
Thecollaboration is essential for innovation in the solution of
complex problems. (Arrive prepared)

How did the definition of our complex problem improve?
As homework from the previous session, each group completed a
video responding to this question, based on the use of:
Creative and visual thinking
Two-Dimensional Canvas
Let's see the result and provide feedback to the group.
Remember that communication in business should be: Short - Clear - Add Value and Persuasive.
Application to the Thesis Project:
With what has been advanced, begin to work on your TAF:
•Clearly define the complex problem that is going to
resolver
Sustain why it is relevant to solve it.
Review the structure and contents of the course TAF
(Thesis Project).
Design Thinking
What are we going to learn?
Understand that 'Design Thinking' requires us to focus on
the user, to respond to our complex problem.
Design an interview guide to understand the problem
complex from the user's perspective.
Characterize the user-client that impacted us the most and
transform it into our meta-user.
Let us answer the question:
What is Design Thinking?
Using complete sentences, not individual words.

Design Thinking

We are all more connected than we think. Whether it's a company or any other challenge.
Organizational at the systems level, design thinking helps us appreciate and find meaning in the connections.

Donkey is the most powerful driver of innovation because it guides long-term strategy, shaping decisions.
business based on future opportunities, stimulates the imagination, and reveals true value.
It is a problem-solving methodology that
focuses its strategy on the needs of the user or
client for innovation in products and services.
We integrate the user into the analysis, and with him/her
develop the solution and validate it.

What phases does Design Thinking have?

What is expected from the team in each phase?
It is not linear It is fine-tuning until it leads to a solution that exceeds expectations.
1. Empathize - Ethnographic Record
The ethnographic record... 15'
Capture as much information as possible about the user from
our complex problem, observing the context where it is
develop the problem, but without intervening; and record those
spaces and interactions of people to have evidence.
Initial step: Go back to the 2D Canvas and make each post-it of information about the
the problem becomes a real image.
Only after this will you be ready to do interviews.

Interview Guide: Preparing to Interview
to the user of our complex problem
Now that we have our complex problem clear, we need to know the
voice of the users or customers who suffer from this problem.
So we are going to create a questionnaire in which we think about what
demographic information we need, discarding what we do not require; and
especially where we can capture the customer's emotions.
Let's remember the video about ethnography and get to work on the design of the
interview (maximum 30 minutes).
IMPORTANT:
Fall in love with people's problems, not with the solution.
The information must be collected in writing.
Basic rules for interviewing...
1. Talk about the user's life, not about your idea.
2. Ask specific questions about the past, in
instead of generalities about the future.
Speak less and listen more.
4. Look for facts, not opinions.
5. In addition to the what?, ask how? and why?
what?
6. Observe body language.
7. Do not condition the answers.
8. Improvise if necessary.
One person at a time.
The Interview Guide: (Application Activity)
Interviewing people who feel the pain of our complex problem
Each team prepares an Interview Guide to better understand the affected user:
Start with a brief brainstorming sessionabout the themes that want to address the complex problem.
Start by askingthe user about demographic characteristics related to their routine, or the
use of a product or service, to end with provocative questions like: "If you could...,
how...? How do you imagine...?, What thing would make it easier....
Refine the questions and eliminate the redundant ones.
Alwaysfavor spontaneity, rely on a script, and consider the interview curve.
2. Consider a duration of 30 to 40 minutes. (8 to 10 well-thought-out questions)
IMPORTANT:
•Submit a one-page Word document that supports the objective of the interview and the
support to include each question.
Upload the interview guide to the course platform:Interview Guide - Group #
Upload the record of the answers of the interviewees:Response Record - Group #
•Fecha de entrega:October 2, 11:59 p.m. (do not send by email).
With that instrument, they will then go tointerview at least 7 users to obtain a good profile of
User. Start identifying who to interview. (Later you will have to interview more users).

Learnings from the session
What did we learn in this session?
Register your complete answer in the chat, for the purposes of:
Time: 2 minutes.
Design thinking is a problem-solving methodology that focuses on strategy.
in the needs of the user or client for innovation in products and services.
Designing people-centered solutions means knowing them in order to propose the solution.
in the context in which they will be used.
Tools to get to know the person:
Ethnography,it allows understanding the context of people.
Interviews, they allow gathering information about people.
Meta User Canvas, allows representing the person for whom it will be done
solution.
Application to the Thesis Project:
Each team should start assembling their TAF:
•Understand the context in which the activities of the users unfold
their respective complex problems.
Develop interview guides to collect information from users of their
respective complex problems.
Generate evidence of each activity carried out (photos, videos, texts of
interviews, etc.)
Review the structure and contents of the course TAF (Thesis Project).
