Below is a very detailed, professional, step-by-step installation and setup guide for your

6.2 kW bifacial solar system with Deye 6 kW hybrid inverter and 51.2 V battery. This is
written the way an experienced installer or engineer would document the job, from zero to
commissioning.

PHASE 1: PRE-INSTALLATION PLANNING AND SAFETY

Step 1: Site Assessment

● Verify roof or ground structure can handle:

○ Panel load (~32–35 kg per panel)

○ Wind uplift and seismic load

● Ensure no shading from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

● Confirm available space for:

○ 2 rows × 5 panels (portrait)

○ Inverter and battery mounting (dry, shaded, ventilated)

● Measure cable routes from panels to inverter and to main distribution panel

Step 2: Electrical Verification

● Confirm local grid voltage and frequency match inverter settings

● Confirm grounding point availability

● Verify inverter MPPT limits:

○ String design: 2 strings × 5 panels in series

● Confirm battery compatibility:

○ 51.2 V LiFePO₄

○ CAN/RS485 supported by Deye

Step 3: Safety Preparation

● Power OFF main utility supply

● Lockout/tagout main breaker

● Wear PPE:

○ Insulated gloves

○ Helmet

○ Safety shoes

○ Harness (roof work)

● Prepare fire extinguisher nearby

PHASE 2: MOUNTING STRUCTURE INSTALLATION

Step 4: Rail Layout and Marking

● Mark panel layout on roof or ground frame

● Maintain:

○ 20–30 mm gap between panels

○ Straight alignment using chalk line

● Identify rafter or anchor points

Step 5: Install L-Feet / Ground Brackets

● Drill pilot holes into rafters or concrete

● Install L-feet using stainless bolts

● Apply sealant to prevent water ingress

● Torque bolts to manufacturer spec

Step 6: Install Aluminum Rails

● Mount rails onto L-feet

● Ensure rails are level and parallel

● Use rail splice connectors where needed

● Torque all rail bolts properly

Step 7: Grounding the Structure

● Attach grounding lugs to each rail

● Connect grounding cable along the rail

● Ensure continuity between all rails

PHASE 3: SOLAR PANEL INSTALLATION

Step 8: Panel Placement

● Lift panels carefully (two persons recommended)

● Place panels on rails in portrait orientation

● Align edges evenly

Step 9: Panel Clamping

● Secure first and last panels with end clamps

● Secure middle panels with mid clamps

● Torque clamps to manufacturer spec (usually 8–10 Nm)

● Do not overtighten

Step 10: Panel Bonding

● Install bonding jumpers between adjacent panels

● Ensure metal-to-metal contact for grounding

● Verify continuity with multimeter

PHASE 4: DC STRING WIRING
Step 11: String Configuration

● Create two strings:

○ String 1: Panels 1–5 in series

○ String 2: Panels 6–10 in series

● Connect positive to negative between panels

Step 12: Cable Management

● Use UV-rated DC cables (6 mm²)

● Secure cables under panels with UV ties

● Avoid sharp bends and roof contact

● Leave drip loops near junction boxes

Step 13: MC4 Connections

● Crimp MC4 connectors using proper tool

● Pull-test each crimp

● Ensure correct polarity

Step 14: DC Combiner Box

● Route both strings into combiner box

● Install:

○ String fuses

○ DC SPD (Type 2)

● Output single positive and negative cable to inverter

Step 15: DC Isolator

● Install DC isolator between combiner and inverter

● Clearly label ON/OFF positions

PHASE 5: INVERTER INSTALLATION

Step 16: Inverter Mounting

● Mount inverter on solid wall

● Maintain clearance:

○ Top: ≥30 cm

○ Sides: ≥20 cm

● Ensure vertical mounting

Step 17: DC Connection to Inverter

● Ensure DC isolator is OFF

● Connect PV positive and negative to inverter terminals

● Torque terminals per inverter manual

PHASE 6: BATTERY INSTALLATION

Step 18: Battery Mounting

● Mount battery on wall or floor stand

● Ensure:

○ Dry area

○ Good ventilation

○ Away from direct sunlight

Step 19: Battery Power Wiring

● Use 25–35 mm² DC cables

● Install:

○ Battery DC breaker

○ Battery disconnect switch

● Connect battery to inverter (polarity checked twice)

Step 20: Battery Communication

● Connect CAN or RS485 cable from battery to inverter

● Set correct battery protocol in inverter menu

PHASE 7: AC CONNECTIONS
Step 21: AC Output Wiring

● Connect inverter AC output to AC distribution panel

● Install:

○ Main AC breaker

○ AC SPD (Type 2)
