Atco, Caravelí, and Ocoña River Basins
The Atco district is one of the thirteen districts of the province of Caravelí, located in the
Arequipa department, under the administration of the regional government of Arequipa, in the
southern Peru.

Geographical location
Caravelí is one of the 13 districts of the province of the same name. The capital of the district is
the city of Caravelí, located on the right bank of the Caravelí River, at 15º45'47" South latitude
at 73º21’20” West longitude, at an average altitude of 1,779 meters above sea level, in the altitudinal region:
Chala, Yunga, Quechua and Suni; with a marine coast and at a distance of 382 km, to the north of the
Arequipa Region.
