countries living in cities from 1970 to 2020, with predictions for 2030 and 2040.

The line graph illustrates the proportion of city residents of Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and
Indonesia from 1970 and 2020 and the prediction for a period of next 20 years.

Overall, there are a significant increase in people who living in cities in four Asian countries.
Malaysia and Indonesia have seen more growth in population than Philippines and Thailand.

In 1970, the figures for Philippinan and Malaysian living in uban areas accounted for about 30%
whereas the percentage of 2 other countries were just under 20%. Over the next 50 years,the
number of urban citizens in Malaysia rose considerably by over 70% and was twofold than
Thailand at the same time.

From 2020 to 2040, the residents who living in cities of Malaysia was predicted to grow to 90%,
the following this figure is that Indonesia and Philippines with 60% and 55% respectively.
Finally, Thailand residents is living in urban increase approximately 50% over the period shown
graph.
