SMART STUDY METHOD
Zeel, this study method is made specially for you.
It is for times when:
- your mind feels confused or blank
- you study more when you feel scared or uncertain
- studying feels heavy when your mind is calm
- you overthink and then feel tired
You are not lazy or weak.
Your mind just needs a safer way to study.
One Topic = 45–60 Minutes Only
Subjects:
- Accountancy
- Economics
- Business Studies
- Maths (Commerce)
No long sitting.
Small, clear steps work better for you.
STEP 1 – Calm First (1–3 minutes)
Before studying, tell yourself softly:
• “I will study one topic only.”
• “I don’t need perfection. I need clarity.”
Take 2–3 slow breaths.
Open your book gently.
This step helps your anxiety settle.
STEP 2 – Understand, Don’t Memorize (5–7 minutes)
While reading:
- Connect the topic to real life
- Imagine it like a story
Examples:
• Accounts: Debit–Credit = money coming in / going out
• Economics: Demand–Supply = market story
• BST: Chapter = company case
Do not force memory.
Try to understand.
STEP 3 – Active Recall (7–10 minutes)
Close the book and ask yourself:
- What did I just read?
- What are the 3 main points?
- Do I remember any formula or entry?
Write on rough paper or explain softly in your own words.
If you forget, it is okay. This is learning, not failure.
STEP 4 – Read & Explain (10–12 minutes)
Open the book again.
Read slowly in a low voice.
Explain as if you are teaching a friend.
If you get stuck, read that part once more.
This step is very powerful for Accounts.
STEP 5 – Exam Practice in Your Mind (10–15 minutes)
Close everything.
Ask yourself:
“If this question comes in the exam, how will I write the answer?”
Think of headings, steps, and keywords.
This builds exam confidence.
Your Daily Study Plan
- 2 subjects per day
- 1 topic per subject
- Total effective study: 2–2.5 hours
You don’t need 6–7 hours.
Quality matters more than quantity.
Important Reminder for You
If you think:
- “I am slow”
- “I can’t remember anything”
- “Others are better than me”
Please remember:
You are not weak.
Studying slowly is still progress.
Confusion is not failure.
Follow this method for 10–14 days.
Confidence will come first. Marks will follow later.
