NOMINAL COMPLEMENT
You must have noticed that the nominal complement can complete the meaning of nouns, adjectives, and
adverb and, in all cases, it is preceded by a preposition.

The names that require a nominal complement are derived from verbs of the same root.

The nominal complement always represents the recipient, the patient, the target of the statement expressed by a
name. The attributive adjunct is where the action originates from, it is its agent. Therefore, it is enough to verify if the expression is

Observe:
She has confidence. Confidence in whom or in what?
The above sentence is incomplete because of the noun (name) confidence.
Now observe:
She has confidence in you.
You complete the noun confidence; that is why it is called a nominal complement.
The nominal complement completes the meaning of a word (noun, adjective, adverb) of significance.
