Brothers: We have gathered to celebrate the
Confirmation of some members of our community of

Christian initiation. The bishop, as the principal representative of
Jesus Christ in the diocese presides over this assembly, in which the
HolySpirit,whoalreadydwellsintheheartsofthebaptized,is
will fill them with greater fullness, in order to make them mature and
growing as Christians. Let us renew our faith in the presence
of the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of His assembly, and
letuspreparetoreceive,boththosewhoaretobeconfirmedas
forthoseofuswhoalreadyare,anewoutpouringoftheirgifts.

 PRESENTATION OF THE CONFIRMANDS
After the Gospel, the Bishop sits in his respective seat. Then
a presbyter or deacon, or the catechist who prepared the confirmands,
present the Bishop to those who are to be confirmed, who stand up in
his place.
The presbyter or the responsible catechist says these words:

These young women were baptized with the promise that they would be

renew before me, pastor of the Church, and before the faithful gathered here,
witnesses of their commitment, the faith that their parents and godparents, in union
of the entire Church, professed on the day of their baptism.

 RENEWAL OF BAPTISMAL PROMISES
The bishop asks the confirmands, who stand up,
everyone respond at once:
Bishop:
Do you renounce Satan and all his works and seductions?
Confirmands:
Yes, I resign.
Bishop:
Do you believe in God, the Almighty Father, creator of heaven and
earth?
Confirmands:
Yes, I believe.

Bishop:
Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born
of the Virgin Mary, died, was buried, rose from the dead
the dead, and is seated at the right hand of the Father?
Confirmands:
Yes, I believe so.

Bishop:
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, Lord and giver of life, who today
will be communicated in a unique way through the sacrament of

The Bishop proclaims the faith of the Church to this profession:

This is our faith. This is the faith of the Church, in which we take pride.

And the faithful, in turn, also nod saying:

LAYING ON OF HANDS
The Bishop (having the priests beside him who along with him
they will administer the Confirmation) standing, with hands together and facing the people, says:

Let us pray, brothers, to God the Almighty Father and ask Him that
pour out the Holy Spirit upon these adopted children who have already been reborn to
eternal life in Baptism, to strengthen them with abundance of
his gifts, I consecrate them with his spiritual anointing and make them into an image
perfect of Jesus Christ.

Everyone prays silently for a few moments.

After the Bishop (and the presbyters who will administer together with him the
Confirmation) imposes hands on all those being confirmed.

Meanwhile the Bishop says:

Almighty God,
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that you regenerated, by water and the Holy Spirit,
to these your servants
and you delivered them from sin,
listen to our prayer and send over them
the Holy Spirit Defender;
fill them with a spirit of wisdom and understanding,
of spirit of counsel and strength,
of spirit of science and piety,
and fill them with the spirit of your holy fear.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

 CRISMACIÓN
Then the deacon presents the holy chrism to the Bishop. They approach the
Bishop of the confirmands.
The one who presents the confirmand places their right hand on the shoulder.
of this and tells the Bishop the name of the presented, unless he himself
confirming whoever says their own name.
The Bishop dips the thumb of his right hand in the holy Chrism and
make with him the sign of the cross on the forehead of the one being confirmed saying:

N., receive by this sign the Gift of the Holy Spirit.

And the confirmed one responds:

Amen.

The Bishop adds:

Peace be with you.

The confirmatory responds:

And with your spirit.

 PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
If the confirmed do not carry it out

After the anointing of all the confirmed, the Prayer of the Faithful is made.
The Deacon does it.

Bishop:
Let us pray, brothers, to God the Almighty Father and, since it is a
the same faith, hope, and love that the Holy Spirit has infused
in all of us, may our prayer be unanimous before the
presence of our common Father.

Lord, our God, who gave the Holy Spirit to the Apostles,

 PREFACE OF THE CONFIRMATION

It is fair and necessary.
In truth, it is only right to thank you,
it is good to sing your glory,
Holy Father,
source and origin of all good.
You, in Baptism, give new life to the believers.

You confirm them with the seal of your Spirit,

Thus, Father,
upon celebrating the memorial now
of the death and resurrection of your Son,
we offer you
the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
and we give you thanks
because you make us worthy to serve you in your presence.
We humbly ask you
that the Holy Spirit gathers in unity
how many of us are participating
of the Body and Blood of Christ.
Remember, Lord,
of your Church extended throughout the earth;
and with Pope Francis,
with me, unworthy servant of yours,
and all the shepherds who take care of your people,
bring it to its perfection through charity.
Remember also your children
who, regenerated in baptism,
today you have confirmed them, marking them with the seal of the Holy Spirit;

RITE OF COMMUNION

O. Full of joy for being children of God,

let's say confidently
the prayer that Christ taught us:
Our Father
O. Deliver us from all evil, Lord,
and grant us peace in our days,
so that, aided by your mercy
let us always live free of sin
and protected from all disturbance
while we wait for the glorious coming
of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Prayer After Communion

We ask you, Lord, to continue favoring

let them grow in the world.

 BLESSING
At the end of the mass, instead of the usual blessing, the people are blessed.
with the following formula.

God the Almighty Father,

who adopted them as children,
making them reborn of water and the Holy Spirit,
