Stay in Control: Bill & Spend Limits
Bill Limit: This is the maximum amount you allow to be billed for each line on your account after monthly recurring charges. You can
set this limit per line, and the total across all lines must not exceed your account’s credit limit. If you don’t set a bill limit, you’ll be
responsible for all charges incurred.
Spend Limit (SPUL/SUL): This is a usage control feature that lets you cap how much can be spent on services like data, voice, or
SMS. It helps prevent unexpected charges and can be adjusted anytime.
You can manage your limits easily via the MTN App: Download or open the MTN App here.

Understand Your Charges: Proforma & Prorated Billing
Proforma Invoice: This is a preliminary invoice issued before your first official bill. It shows an estimated breakdown of charges
based on your selected plan and usage assumptions. It’s not a final bill and doesn’t reflect actual usage or payments.
Example: If you sign up for a plan on the 15th of the month, your proforma invoice may show a full month’s charges, even though your
actual usage starts mid-month. Your first official invoice will be adjusted for the actual activation date and any prorated charges.
This helps you understand what to expect and plan your budget accordingly.
Prorated Charges: These apply when your service starts mid-month.
Example: If your plan starts on 15 October, your first invoice will include charges only for 15–31 October (not the full month) plus a
month in advance. This ensures you only pay for the days you’ve used the service.
