2. Who do you want to be? What do you really want out of your life? What legacy
do you want to leave behind?

I want to be a respected person that is simple and not very complex. I really want to be
able to be self sustainable and be a simple and ethical person. I want to leave behind a
sense of respect and inspiration.

3. List three things that you love to do. What values are reflected in these activities?

One thing I love to do is math, this reflects my interest in gaining more knowledge and
facing challenges that I may not be able to solve easily. I love to play badminton, this
reflects my interest in enjoyment and fun playing with others and friendship. I also love
to spend time with family annd friends, this reflects my interest in quality relationships
and social life.

4. Think about your life. What will be most important to you in terms of your quality
of life? What things do you want to be able to do?

The most important thing to me in quality of life is honesty and simplicity. I want to be
able to sustain my living and be independent.

5. Now summarize your top five values, why you hold those as the most
important and how these relate to the career you are considering.

My top 5 values are quality relationships, family, efficiency, job tranquility, and
stability. This relates to the career I am looking towards as I am thinking about
joining IT or Finance as my career as both are very stable and provide a solid
payment as well to maintain stability economy as well.

I was Conventional, Enterprising, and Investigative. I was not supriesd about any of my
top interests as I thought they reflected my personality accurately.

An example where my inerests and career goals align is my career goal of finance and
my interest of enterprising as enterprsiing is about presenting my view and advice to
others.

Exercise 2.1C | Discovering Your Personality

There are numerous ways to discover your personality type. After using the assessment
chosen by your instructor, answer the questions below. The important thing is to
remember that there is not one perfect or “right” type of personality. We are using these
tools to discover more about our personalities and how those may inform our career and
life choices. Learning about your personality can give insight into the types of activities
you find more satisfying and thus point you to specific career fields for more research.
Also remember that these assessments are a snapshot, and you will want to “validate”
the results by asking yourself if this truly describes you. The purpose is to increase your
self-awareness, so your gut instinct is also an important validation tool.

My personality type is a protagonist. The characteristics associated with my personality

in sensitivty, self conscious, and organized.

2. What surprised you about your results? What did you agree or disagree with?
I was suprised that I was extraverted asI feel that I do not really like to talk and share
unless it truly is necessary; I do not really agree with the extraverted aspect of the
analysis.

3. Look at the careers that “match” your type. Do any of these careers sound
appealing to you? Why or why not?

Counseling sounds appeling to me as that connects to my career goal in finance or

even IT as it involves working with cosumers and software troubleshooting or
development.

My personality type correlates with finance which is a career I currently considering. I

specific they connect is advising and cousneling others on financial choices and
decisions connecting to my perosnality of empathy and idealism.
