Dynamic Modification Rule (DMR)

Dynamic Modification Rule (DMR) in SAP QM is a control mechanism that adjusts the
inspection scope (sample size, frequency, or skip logic) based on the quality history of a
material, vendor, or process.

Use of DMR
 To reduce inspection effort when the quality history is consistently good.

 To increase inspection if problems or defects are found.

 To apply skip-lot inspection, reduced inspection, or tightened inspection automatically.

Purpose of DMR
 Improves efficiency by avoiding unnecessary inspections.

 Ensures focus on risky or defective lots.

 Saves time and cost while still ensuring product quality.

 Helps in continuous monitoring and quality improvement.

Step 1: Activate inspection type 01 and 89 in MM02 in Inspection Setup.

Step 2: Click on save button
