4. PRESENTATION
The model of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla aims to, as
one of its fundamental policies, a curricular improvement that ensures the
Training quality professionals through adequate training
humanistic and scientific, that provides the student with a high degree of
knowledge and an ideal interdisciplinarity to skillfully address their
future works.
The present STUDY PLAN FOR MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING
represents the organized effort by the professors of the Faculty of
Electronics Sciences.
The generation of scientific and technological knowledge within a context
global, leads to new technologies applicable to all areas that
they definitely impact the apprehension of new knowledge, as factors
of challenge, opportunity, and competition. Hence the dynamic characteristic of this Plan

4.1 JUSTIFICACIÓN
The General Institutional Development Plan 2002-2005 of BUAP is a
product of the institutional vision, in which it is proposed to consolidate the foundations for
future of the University based on the important movements generated in its
interior; the stage that BUAP is currently living represents a new era
university: the transformation of the Institution into a true open stage for
dialogue where ideas are discussed in a plural and tolerant climate, which gives
response to the complexity of the current social and educational phenomenon from diverse
perspectives.
The General Development Plan reaffirms the role in promotion and
production of scientific, humanistic, and technological knowledge as a way to
contribute to the development of human potential, in such a way that the

to contribute to institutional, regional, and national development. It is also proposed
address priorities through strategic programs such as; the Improvement of
Organization and Academic Model, Institutional Economics, University Management
of Quality and Interaction with Society.
For our Academic Unit, it is pertinent to design a curriculum
flexible and versatile, considering scientific advances in all areas of
knowledge, the impact of globalization and the trend towards standardization of
the production processes, in such a way that it is possible to offer programs
flexible and adaptable academics to the social reality at the time of being evaluated

demands that the current times require.
The current environment of the Puebla region is undergoing changes in its

national. The educational offer of the Mechatronics career is justified by the fact
transcendental of the high demand from the industry for professionals with
knowledge in Mechanics, Electronics, and Computing. The region of Puebla with
neighboring states are projected to become a zone of high industrialization in the years
upcoming, with projects like the grand vision plan, for example, that promote the
placement of maquiladora plants and for which qualified personnel is necessary
to carry out the functions of installation, maintenance, operation and
conditioning of industrial machinery.
Under this context, the Mechatronics degree at the Faculty of Sciences

with a versatile profile, that is, with mastery of several disciplines necessary in the
industrial field, as well as a high capacity for adaptation, ease for work
in teams and for self-learning.
At the national level, BUAP is a focal point for students from other states.
such as Oaxaca, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, etc. for this reason the training of personnel
Qualified for the industry is crucial for the development of such states.
With all of the above and in addition to the prestige of the Faculty, the Mechatronics degree
positions itself as a valuable alternative for society and the industry of Puebla and
neighboring states.
Without a doubt, the plurality of educational offerings in the region will generate resources
as well as an increasingly intense competition; professionals and specialists
they will require a solid education that allows them to acquire skills and

It is worth noting that of the four public higher education institutions
from the State of Puebla, only the Technological University offers a career in
Mechatronics but at a technical level. The lack of offer on the part of the
public education institutions create a gap in the supply, forcing the
students to consider other Majors or Universities.
On the other hand, the demand for engineering careers remains significant.

4.8 COURSE DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECTS

We adopt cutting-edge global learning paradigms that
they are focused on creating the appropriate conditions to develop students
critics and independents, moving from the paradigm "the teacher teaches" to that of "the
student learns", and in a presentation of concepts and information through the
the greatest possible number of meanings, which leads to an increase in the use of techniques of
multimedia exhibition and activities and spaces related to support for
self-learning, where the teacher is an efficient facilitator of methods and
learning environments that promote teamwork along with the
students to develop the ability to learn and for the student to acquire each
more often by himself the knowledge, attitudes, and values that define the profile of
outcome of our Curriculum.
