Project:
Designing a Digital Platform to Preserve and Promote Endangered Traditional Products of Rural India
Deadline: 04/12/2025, 11:59 pm
Project Overview:
This project focuses on preserving and promoting ethnic and traditional products from rural India that are at
risk of becoming extinct due to modernization, changing consumer preferences, or lack of market access.
Students will conduct online research to identify five such products, learn about their cultural significance,
and then design a simple digital platform (e- commerce website or app) to raise awareness and create a
market for these products.
The goal is to design some screens and a user-friendly flow that will help spread awareness about these
products through this online marketplace.
Key Deliverables:
1. A report/presentation that includes:
a. The five endangered products selected for the platform (images)
b. Cultural significance and a small history of each product
c. Challenges faced by artisans in preserving and promoting the products
d. Target audience insights: Who are the potential buyers, and what are their motivations for
purchasing these products?
e. Include all the links to prove your research.
2. UX Deliverables:
a. User Flow diagram: screen shot/link of FigJam to be added in the presentation
b. Site Map diagram: screen shot/link of FigJam to be added in the presentation
3. Wireframes:
a. Low-Fidelity Wireframes: Simple, black-and-white wireframes created in Figma
representing key pages. Link of Figma to be added in the presentation.
b. Mid/high fidelity (optional) Link of Figma to be added in the presentation.
