ABSTRACT
In the rapidly evolving field of cyber systems, ensuring both strong security and high
performance has become a critical challenge. Security mechanisms such as encryption,
authentication, intrusion detection, and access control are essential to safeguard sensitive data and
protect systems from cyber threats. However, these mechanisms often introduce computational
overhead, increase processing time, and consume more system resources, which can negatively
impact performance.

On the other hand, prioritizing system performance by reducing or bypassing security layers can
improve speed and efficiency but leaves systems vulnerable to attacks and data breaches. This
creates a fundamental trade-off where enhancing security often comes at the cost of reduced
performance, and improving performance may compromise security. Understanding this balance
is vital for designing reliable and efficient cyber systems.

This project aims to study the relationship between security and performance in different cyber
architectures. It will analyze how various security techniques affect performance metrics such as
latency, throughput, and resource utilization. The project will also explore optimization strategies
to achieve a balanced approach that maintains strong security without severely impacting system
performance.
