The diagram shows the process of how bananas are grown and prepared
before they are sold in supermarkets. Overall, there are seven stages,
starting from growing the bananas on farms and ending with customers
buying them.
First, bananas need around nine months to one year to grow in warm
weather of about 25 to 30 degrees and with a lot of rain. When the
bananas are still green, workers pick them by hand. After that, the
bananas are checked, and only the good ones are kept while the bad ones
are thrown away.
In the next stage, the bananas are shipped to other places. They are
stored in fridges on the ship at a temperature of 13.3 degrees Celsius.
Then, they are put in special rooms where they rest and turn yellow. In the
sixth stage, the bananas are delivered to supermarkets by trucks. Finally,
at the last stage, customers buy the bananas.
In general, the bananas go through many steps to make sure they are
good enough to be sold, from growing and picking to checking and
transporting.
