The Reason for Arise and Shine Dip Self Help Group to exist:
Is to build the capacity of parents to be able to mobilize and manage financial resources through savings and loaning for them to satisfy their productive
and consumption needs and needs of orphans and vulnerable children

THE ARISE AND SHINE DIP SELF HELP GROUPGROUP


A person who is vulnerable ,A parent of a former street child or a parent of a member of the Association Youth is committed to be in the programme for 3 cycles
to achieve the objectives

Upper age limit: 65 years


Lower age limit: 20 years
Gender: Male and Female
Common bond is a parent / guardian of : Vulnerable child
Reputation, good character. Honesty,trustworthy,Respectful,time management, good behavior.

[Link] PROCUDURE

Elections shall be held at the beginning of every cycle

 The minimum number of members who must be present to hold election are 2/3 of the general assembly.
 The election procedure will use a system of casting votes as follows, proposing, seconding and show of hands.
 The minimum number of people that must stand for each position is 2 members.
 A member must be proposed by another member before being put forward for election.
 If a position falls vacant by election is held for replacement.

Any member of the General Assembly can call for a vote of no confidence in a member of the Management Committee. If the vote is passed by a majority of the
members, the member must step down from the Management Committee and another member be elected.

[Link] To mobilize savings and disburse loans, the Arise and Shine Dip Self Help Group
will meet every Thursday starting at 2.00 p.m

 The meetings of the Arise and shine shall be held at Paulines house
 Group shall conduct share – out after 12 months(December 2025)

VIII. MEMBERS EXIT

 If a member leaves the Arise and Shine Dip Self Help Group because they have alternative (e.g. if they marry or moves away) group will calculate how
much they must be paid using the following principle We calculate all shares deduct loan, IGA and amount to be given at the end of cycle in case she/he
owes group money will commit her when to pay, failure to pay legal action will be taken to the local administrator to be sermon.
 If a person leaves group before the end of the cycle for no good reason, except their preference to leave, group will calculate how much s/he must be
paid using the following principle - the shares will be calculated then will be held upto end of years/cycles. In addition, the member will pay a fine 10% of
her shares.
 If a person is expelled from group for failing to contribute regular savings, group will calculate how much to be paid using the following principle - the
shares will be calculated then held until the Group has completed 1 cycle
 If a person is expelled from group for failing to repay loan, group will calculate how much they must be paid using the following principle - the shares will
be calculated, loan deducted from the shares and the balance held until the Group has completed 1 cycle

The reason for which a person should be expelled from the group is due to, lack of discipline, failure to save for 4 consecutive sittings or to repay loan for 3
consecutive repayment dates,in discipline .

X. DEATH OF A MEMBER

 If a member dies, the will calculate how much money should be given to their next of kin using the following principle… Calculate the shares minus loan
plus IGA then amount given to the next of kin or group will ask next of kin to continue with saving till the end of cycle. If she/ she fails to continue and
incase she/he has amount of the group. The group will discuss on the amount and even write off.

XI. FINES

Following table lists the fines that can be charged for offences committed.

XII. CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT

 The number of members who must agree before the Constitution can be amended are 2/3 of the general assembly.
 The people who can propose an amendment to the Constitution are active and registered members of the group only.

B. SERVICES OFFERED BY (Name of Group)

1. SHARES

 A member of the Group shall buy a share or shares. One (1) share is equal to Kshs …50 shs
 The minimum number of share a member can buy per seating is one share, equivalent to …50 shs…
 The maximum number of shares a member can buy per seating is …5……. shares, equivalent to Ksh. …500shs…

2. LOANING

 Those eligible to take loans are active member with up to date shares.
 A member shall be given a loan up to three (1) time his/her shares
 The maximum loan length in weeks is…4wks to 8wks (the loan amount will determine weeks)
 The rate on interest will be charged on every loan taken will be 10%
 When member does not repay a loan the following principle will apply he/she will be communicated to officially three times, thereafter commit to the Chief
of the Location. This will lead to arrest, prosecution and recovery of the owed funds
 A loan that is not re-paid will be considered uncollectable after3 times rollovers without any amount of money paid.
 If a member ends a cycle without taking a loan, he/she will get half interest.
 The General Assembly must establish the purpose of loan being borrowed by a member and be satisfied that it is going towards a worthwhile activity
 A member who qualifies for loan must present his/her national Identification Card. The ID number is shown against a members’ name in the Loan section
of the Ledger book.

3. SOCIAL FUND

 Social fund minimum contribution per member per sitting will be Kshs 20 and maximum will be by number of shares
 The type of emergencies for which will be the social fund will pay out benefits are Disaster
 The benefit for the death of a spouse will be Kshs 500 per member
 The benefits for the death of a child will be Kshs 500 per member
 The benefits for the death of a parent will be shs.500
 The benefits for hospital costs or doctor’s visit will be N/A
 The benefit for medicines will be N/A
 Other benefits will be death of a member ksh..1000
 In case of death of a member quarter of members should travel with the family for burial
 Other benefits will be discussed upon

4. ORHANED AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN FUND

The orphaned children and vulnerable chidren fund contribution per member per sitting will be Kshs 10.

This fund will support OVCs with school uniforms, shoes, school items. Groups will support OVCs every month.

 The minimum contribution per member per sitting towards the OVC fund is Kshs 10shs.
 There shall be an OVC Committee to administer the OVC fund, comprising of the Chairperson, Secretary, one member, group representative, CRC
Patron and CHD Representative

5. STORAGE OF GROUP FUNDS

 All Group funds (generated through savings, IGAs, interest, etc) will be stored by Group members themselves. No funds shall be given to the group
representative or an outsider for storage on behalf of the Group
 Group Funds is a revolving fund and will therefore revolve amongst Group members at all times within the cycle/ year
 GArise and Shine Dip Self Help group will keep a good record showing movement of funds from one member/official to another member/official. The
record to show names and signatures of member or officer giving or receiving the funds
 Group will store their funds in a mobile money platform, either Mpesa, Equitel, or bank account depending on group decision.

XIII. COMMITMENTS

 Every member should commit him/herself to stay in the group for three cycles or years (as per the agreement) and adhere to the set rules.
 Before signing, you should agree to the rules (because signing means you have agreed to the rules / constitution).
 The Group shall share data with (name of organization for a period of 3 cycles
 A copy of this constitution shall be shared with the director and the chief of the location and signed /stamped by the two
