Know the importance of helping; and
Constructs a pie graph based on a given set of data and interpret it.

graph, you only have 2 minutes to finish the
task.

Now let’s analyze the problem. Please read.
Joey was helping his mother in their Ice
cream Store, a newly opened store near the
school. He asked 40 learners about their
favorite ice cream flavor.
Now, what we gonna do to make us
understand the data? We need to contruct a graph ma;am.

C. DISCUSSION
What is Pie graph? Kindly read. Pie graphs or circle graphs are used to
show the percent of a quantity in each of
the several categories. It can also be used
to easily visualize the ratio of one category
to another.
To construct a pie graph, you may do the
following steps:
Step 1: Find the percentage. Change the
number of learners per ice cream flavor
preference to percent form by dividing it to
the total number of learners. Then, their
quotients is multiplied to 100; transforming
them to percent form.
Step 2: Find the angle measure for each
section. Change percent form to decimal form
by moving the decimal point 2 places to the
left. Then, multiply each decimal to 360°.
(The complete rotation of a circle is
equivalent to 360°.)
Step 3: Table Completion
Step 4: Draw a graph
Draw a circle using a compass.
Use a protractor to draw the angle measures
of 90°, 36°, 90°, 360, and 108°. Then label
each section.
Step 5: Write a title for the graph and
interpret.
Therefore, the ice cream flavor that most
learners like is chocolate since it has 30%
votes.
