Imagine that you are joining an international online club for English learners. To
introduce yourself to the other members, you need to write a short text. First, share
some personal information (your name, age, nationality, hobbies, marital status and
favorite activities). Then, talk about your skills by explaining what you are good at
and what you are not so good at. Finally, write about your favorite music, movies, or
sports and say what you don’t enjoy.

Hello everyone! My name is Lucas Pereira, I am 15 years old and I am from São Paulo, Brazil.
I am a high school student and I live with my parents and my younger sister. In my free
time, I like playing video games, listening to music, and hanging out with my friends. I also
enjoy going for walks in the park near my house. On the other hand, I don’t like cleaning my
room or waking up early on weekends.
When it comes to abilities, I can play the guitar and sing a little. I can also speak some
English and I am learning Spanish at school. I am good at playing soccer and I can swim very
well. However, I can’t cook complicated meals, and I can’t dance, even if I try!
I am also very interested in food. My favorite food is pasta, especially spaghetti with tomato
sauce. I like pizza and Brazilian barbecue too. I don’t like very spicy food, and I can’t eat
sushi because I don’t enjoy raw fish.
Talking about entertainment, I really like rock and pop music. My favorite band is Imagine
Dragons, and I also listen to some Brazilian singers. My favorite kind of movies are action
and adventure, but I don’t enjoy horror movies because they make me nervous. For sports, I
love playing soccer and watching it on TV, but I don’t like basketball.
That’s a little about me. I am very excited to meet new people here and to learn more about
different cultures. Nice to meet you all!
