Unit 1

1 The product of means = The Product of extremes

2 The Scale drawing :

Length in drawing (cm)
• The Scale drawing = ‫ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ‬
Length in reality ( mm , cm , m , km )
• The Scale drawing > 1 ( more than 1 ) represents magnification such as 100 : 1

• The Scale drawing < 1 ( less than 1 ) represents minimization such as 1 : 1000

• There are 3 ways to represent scale drawing :

1) Ratio ex : 1 : 20 000
2) expression ex : every 1 cm represents 40 km
3) number line ex :

• We need to Convert units of length only when the scale drawing as ratio

1 cm : 1 meter x 100 1 cm : 1 km x 100 000 1 cm x 10 : 1 mm

3 The Ratio :

• The sum , total , whole amount , profit of all , loss of all Sum (+)
• The difference , exceeds , increased , decreased , more or less than diff. (-)
• The ratio of half is 1 : 2 , The ratio of twice ( double ) is 2 : 1
• If a man passed away then :
( wife share = the amount ÷ 8 )
( The ratio between son and daughter is 2 : 1 ) from the remaining
• In Geometry :
A rectangle the sum of length and width = perimeter ÷ 2
A cuboid the sum its dimensions L + W + H = Sum of all edges ÷ 4

∅ , {1} , {2} , {5} , {1,2} , {1,5} , {2,5} , { 1,2,5}
The number of all subsets = 2 power ( number of elements ) 23 = 8 subsets
∅ , { 1,2,5} called improper subsets
{1} , {2} , {5} , {1,2} , {1,5} , {2,5} called proper subsets ( only 6 subsets )
