Main Thinkers:
1. Auguste Comte (1798–1857) – Father of Sociology

2. Émile Durkheim (1858–1917)

o Famous study: Suicide – he showed even personal acts are influenced by
society.
o Said society is more than just individuals; it has its own reality.
3. Karl Marx (1818–1883)

(proletariat).
o Criticized capitalism and believed it leads to inequality.

o Gave the idea of “bureaucracy” and importance of rules in modern society.
o Famous for the book The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism.
