Statement of Purpose
I am Sadikur Rahman, a dedicated and enthusiastic student from Bangladesh, and I am writing to
express my sincere interest in pursuing the BSc (Hons) in Computer Science at Niels Brock
Copenhagen Business College, offered in collaboration with De Montfort University, UK. With
a solid academic foundation in science, an intense passion for computing, and a strong
commitment to developing a global perspective, I believe that this program is the ideal next step
toward fulfilling my academic and professional aspirations.
From an early age, I have been fascinated by the evolving world of technology. My interest in
computers began during my secondary school years, where I was deeply intrigued by how
technology influences and shapes modern society. I pursued this curiosity academically by
opting for the Science stream at BAF Shaheen College Shamshernagar, Sylhet Board, where I
consistently achieved strong results—earning a GPA of 5.00 in my Higher Secondary Certificate
(H.S.C) in 2023 and 4.94 in my Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C) in 2020. These
achievements are a testament to my dedication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills—
key qualities required in the field of computer science.
After completing my H.S.C, I initially focused on university entrance exams in Bangladesh.
However, I was not accepted into the program of my choice. Rather than letting this discourage
me, I took this as an opportunity to explore international education. I devoted several months to
preparing for the IELTS exam and improving my English language skills, achieving an overall
band score of 7.5 with no band less than 6.5. This experience not only strengthened my academic
readiness but also boosted my confidence to study in an international environment.
The BSc (Hons) in Computer Science at Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College appeals to
me due to its innovative curriculum that combines academic theory with practical application,
preparing students for real-world IT challenges. The program’s modules in software engineering,
data structures, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity align with my long-term goal of
becoming a skilled software engineer who can contribute to solving complex technological
problems. I am also drawn to the opportunity to study in Denmark—a country renowned for its
progressive education system, focus on innovation, and high quality of life.
I chose Niels Brock specifically because of its partnership with De Montfort University and its
reputation for delivering UK-standard higher education in Denmark. The international
atmosphere, experienced faculty, and career-oriented teaching methods will provide me with the
global exposure and technical expertise I need to thrive in today’s competitive tech industry. I
am also particularly excited about the possibility of engaging in internships and collaborative
projects, which will further enhance my hands-on experience.
My long-term objective is to work in the software development or AI sector, contributing to
cutting-edge solutions in areas such as health tech, education, or smart infrastructure. I am
confident that the education and training I will receive at Niels Brock will be instrumental in
turning these goals into reality. Furthermore, studying in Denmark will enable me to interact
with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, broadening my worldview and fostering skills
that go beyond academics.
