My Narrative Report

The National Service Training Program (NSTP),

particularly the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) component, is
designed to develop students into socially responsible individuals by engaging
them in community-based activities. Throughout the NSTP–CWTS program, I
was able to participate in several meaningful trainings and activities that
enhanced my knowledge, skills, and sense of civic duty. These activities
included Red Cross training, Fire Station training, community cleaning
activities, and discussions on the core topics of CWTS. Each experience
contributed significantly to my personal growth and understanding of
community service.

One of the most valuable experiences during the NSTP–

CWTS program was the Red Cross training. This activity focused on basic
life-saving skills such as first aid, proper response to emergencies, and
disaster preparedness. We were taught how to assess emergency situations,
provide immediate care to injured individuals, and perform basic techniques
such as bandaging, splinting, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The training emphasized the importance of remaining

calm and alert during emergencies. Through demonstrations and hands-on
activities, I learned how quick and proper actions can help save lives. This
experience made me realize the importance of being prepared at all times,
especially during accidents and natural disasters. The Red Cross training
strengthened my confidence and sense of responsibility to help others in
times of need.

Another significant activity was the Fire Station training,

where we learned about fire safety, prevention, and emergency response. Fire
personnel explained the common causes of fire incidents and the proper ways
to prevent them at home, in school, and in the community. We were also
introduced to the different types of fire extinguishers and their proper usage
depending on the type of fire.

During the training, the firefighters shared their real-life

experiences, which gave us a deeper understanding of the risks they face and
the importance of teamwork and discipline. This activity increased my
awareness of fire hazards and taught me how to respond appropriately during
fire emergencies. It also inspired me to be more cautious and proactive in
promoting safety within the community.

The community cleaning activity was a hands-on

experience that highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility.
Together with my fellow NSTP–CWTS participants, we cleaned public areas
by collecting garbage, segregating waste, and maintaining cleanliness in the
surroundings. This activity showed us how simple actions can have a positive
impact on the environment and public health.

Through this activity, I learned the value of cooperation

and shared responsibility. It reminded me that maintaining a clean
environment starts with individual discipline and collective effort. The cleaning
activity strengthened my appreciation for environmental care and encouraged
me to practice proper waste management in my daily life.

In addition to the practical activities, the NSTP–CWTS

program included discussions on the topics and goals of CWTS. These
discussions focused on citizenship, volunteerism, leadership, community
development, and social responsibility. We learned that CWTS aims to
empower students to become active contributors to nation-building through
community service.
The discussions helped me understand the true
purpose of NSTP—not just as a course requirement, but as a program that
shapes values, character, and social awareness. It emphasized that helping
the community does not always require grand actions; even small acts of
service can create meaningful change.

Overall, my experience in the NSTP–CWTS program

was meaningful and enriching. The Red Cross training, Fire Station training,
community cleaning activity, and CWTS discussions taught me essential life
skills, discipline, and the importance of service to others. These activities
helped me become more aware of my role as a responsible citizen and
inspired me to actively participate in community development. I am grateful for
the opportunity to be part of NSTP–CWTS, as it has strengthened my
commitment to serve, help, and contribute positively to society.
Fire station training provided hands-on experience in emergency
response, teamwork, and discipline.

Red Cross training provided practical experience in first aid, CPR, and
emergency response.
