PROGRAM
FOR A TEACHING HOSPITAL (A CENTER FOR
ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE)

SUBMITTED TO: INS. DAWDE

INTRODUCTION

The proposed Teaching Hospital (Center for Alternative Medicine) is

conceived as a holistic health facility integrating medical education, clinical
practice, and research in complementary and traditional healing systems.
The project aims to create a sustainable and human-centered environment
where modern medical science coexists with alternative therapies to
promote total well-being.

Located within a 10-hectare natural and green setting, the hospital will
function both as a tertiary care institution and a teaching campus. It is
designed to serve patients seeking integrative treatments while
simultaneously providing a dynamic learning environment for students and
researchers in alternative medicine disciplines.

The program includes a comprehensive range of hospital departments such

as outpatient and emergency services, diagnostic and imaging units, surgical
and inpatient areas, pharmacy, and supporting administrative and estate
facilities. In addition, the hospital incorporates an academic mini-campus
with classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices, and student dormitories, as
well as a small research center dedicated to advancing evidence-based
studies in herbal medicine, acupuncture, and other traditional healing
modalities.

The functional planning emphasizes patient comfort, operational efficiency,

and educational synergy. Circulation is calculated to ensure smooth flow
between public, semi-public, and restricted zones. The overall total buildable
area is approximately 19,504 m², accommodating healthcare, teaching, and
research functions under one integrated framework.

This Teaching Hospital (Center for Alternative Medicine) aspires to become a

model institution where healthcare delivery, learning, and research intersect
to revive traditional knowledge through modern architectural expression and
sustainable design principles.
