Preface
In the modern technological era, websites have become one of the most powerful tools for communication
and information sharing. From education and business to entertainment and social interaction, websites play
a major role in connecting people across the world. With this growing importance of the internet, learning
how to build a website has become an essential skill for students.
This project, titled “Website Building Using HTML and CSS”, aims to explore the basic yet fundamental
concepts involved in creating a simple website. While working on this project, I had the opportunity to learn
how a web page is structured using HTML tags and how visual styling is added through CSS. I also
understood how different elements such as images, tables, hyperlinks, lists, and divisions contribute to the
overall layout of a web page.
The project encouraged me to think creatively and apply logical planning to design a user-friendly website.
It also helped me understand the importance of proper coding practices, neat formatting, and clear
organization of content. Through practical experimentation, I realized how even small changes in code can
bring significant differences in the final appearance of a web page.
Completing this project has strengthened my interest in web development and enhanced my technical skills.
I believe that this project will serve as a useful reference for anyone who wants to start learning about
website creation. I hope that readers find this work informative, engaging, and helpful in understanding the
basics of building a website.
Physical System
Before creating the website, people collected information about hill stations through books, magazines,
travel brochures, or by asking others. Students often used handwritten notes or charts to present information.
All details were scattered, and there was no single place where someone could easily get complete
information about different hill stations.
Problems with Physical System
1. Information is scattered in many different sources.
2. Collecting and reading information takes a lot of time.
3. Details may be incomplete or outdated.
4. Difficult to compare different hill stations.
5. Physical materials can be lost, damaged, or require reprinting.
6. Hard for group members to share and update content together.
7. Not accessible anytime or from anywhere.
Logical System
The logical system provides a digital solution through a website created by our group of four
students. The website contains information about several hill stations on separate web pages,
along with images and easy navigation links. It presents all information in one place with a
neat layout using HTML and external CSS. The website is fast, easy to access, well-
organized, and solves the problems of the physical system by making information available
anytime from any device.
