The President of India is the Supreme Commander
of the three services – Army, Navy and Air Force
Headquarters- New Delhi
Chief of the Army staff- a four star General and is
assisted by 8 Lt. Generals who are:

15th of January
This was the day when Lt. General KM Cariappa took
over as the first Commander in Chief of the
Independent India in the year 1948.
The day is marked as a day to salute the Brave soldiers
who laid down their lives for the protection of the
Country.
