DEFINITION
The front loader is a tractor, mounted on tracks or wheels, that has a
large spoon at its front end. They are loading and hauling equipment
and eventually excavation in the case of transportation over short distances.

OBJECTIVES
• Provide a foundation for the proper operation and maintenance of the

performance of this machinery.
• To achieve safety in the operation of the front loader.
• To have knowledge about machine maintenance and achieve greater
performance.
PARTS OF THE FRONT LOADER
CLASSIFICATION OF FRONT LOADERS:
• From Caterpillar:
They offer exceptional versatility, buoyancy, traction, and stability in a
a wide range of conditions and terrains.

• Rubber
They are one of the most used teams in construction today. Known for
its extreme versatility and payload capacity, they perform multiple tasks in
a low price. The most well-known manufacturers of front loaders by
The main players are Caterpillar, Deere, Komatsu, and Volvo. Among others.

FUNCTIONING:
• A front loader consists of a pivoting frame, with
the engine mounted on the rear wheels, and with a cabin on the top
front or rear. The arrangement of the machine's pivot is vital in providing the
front loader the ability to maneuver and work in small turns
circulars.
• The compact wheeled loaders contain 80 hp or less, and for

• The energy is supplied from a diesel engine through a converter and
It has "power shift wheels" to manage the wheels. The wheeled loaders
they are four-wheel drive which must be of equal size.
The rear drive wheel improves the machine's digging capability while
the front drive wheel allows for better traction when it is loaded

Warning:
• To avoid damaging the scoop, do not push work (bulldoze) with the scoop tilted forward.
• When pushing for a scoop, keep the bottom of the ladle parallel to the ground.

work changes empty with the wind towards the back.

Warning:
• The continuous and unnecessary tapping of the ladle's stops can accelerate its wear and increase the
maintenance costs of the charger mechanism.
Precautions During Operation

• Keep the operating floor free of rocks, as they can overturn the machine if the
the operator carries the bucket very high
• Do not step back with the bucket too high.
• Do not drop the load from too great a height, especially if it is rocks. Especially
in the first
• Always keep the floor horizontal.
• Always load from the safest side and according to the loading condition. It is avoided
possible.
• Sail with the wind (whenever possible)
• Be prudent in every operational act.
• Always ensure that lights, brakes, and steering are functioning properly.
LOADING AND UNLOADING OPERATIONS

• When performing loading and unloading operations, always use the ramps and proceed as indicated.
below.
• Correctly apply the trailer brakes and insert wedges under the wheels to prevent that
the machine moves.
• Then I fixed the ramps in line with the central parts of the trailer and the machine, make sure
that both sides are at the same level.
• Determine the direction of the ramp and then load and unload the machine slowly.

PRECAUTIONS FOR TRANSPORT

• Slowly lower the work material.
• Apply the safety lock to secure all control levers.
• Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and stop the engine.
• Block the front and rear frames with the safety bar.
• Place wedges in front of the tires and underneath them.
Engine start

• Make sure the parking brake is engaged.

• Make sure that the transmission control lever is in the position
NEUTRAL.
• Make sure the control levers are in the FIXED position.
• Adjust the rearview mirrors for better visibility.
• Move the steering control to the desired position.
• Before starting the engine, check for people or staff
maintenance around the machine. Make sure that no one is present
near the machine. Briefly sound the advance horn before
start the engine.
ENGINE STOP

• While the machine is stopped, run the engine for five minutes at
low speed at idle. This allows the hot areas of the engine to
cool gradually.
• Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position and remove it
key.
MAINTENANCE
GUIDE FOR MAINTENANCE

• The user is responsible for performing maintenance, including all

the adjustments, the use of lubricants, fluids, and appropriate filters as well as
due to their normal wear and tear
aging. Failure to respect the intervals and procedures of
proper maintenance can reduce performance of the
product and the accelerated wear of the components.

• First, use the distance traveled, the fuel consumption, the

service hours or calendar time, WHICHEVER OCCURS
FIRST, to determine the maintenance intervals. The
products that operate under rigorous conditions
they may require more frequent maintenance.

LIST OF WEAR PARTS

• The wear parts, such as filters, the air filter element, the teeth
the ladle, etc., must be changed at the time of maintenance
periodically or before they reach their abrasion limits.
• The wear parts must be changed correctly to achieve a
economic operation of the machine.
• Use only original spare parts for the replacement of pieces.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS

. The great versatility of the front loader or wheel loader has been observed because it can
carry out tasks as varied as transporting materials, pushing, clearing land, lifting, etc.

Some recommendations that can be made are the following:

oPreferably work with your back to the wind to prevent the driver from receiving the ...
dust particles on the face.
oFor reasons of equipment duration, it must be ensured that it is always operated on the ground.
horizontal, although prior leveling may be necessary.
orWhen the loader moves over rough terrain, the bucket should be kept as low as possible.
possible, to prevent the load from falling on the operator and the machine, damaging them.
o For each type of work and quality of the land, the appropriate loader must be chosen, as well as
the most effective accessories.
oTry to avoid 90 or 180 degree turns, as these cause the most wear.
