UNIT 7 - Generative AI

DAY 1 — Introduction to Generative AI

Approach: Discussion + Multimedia + Brainstorming
NEP Alignment: Inquiry-based & connecting learning to real world
• Begin with examples students already know: AI art, ChatGPT, deepfakes, auto-music.
• Ask students: “Can machines create like humans?”
• Teacher introduces:
 What is Generative AI?
 Difference: Creating new content vs recognizing existing
• Show simple video demo of AI generating images or text.
• Group brainstorming:
 List fields where new content is required (entertainment, marketing, education etc.)
Reflection Task: Write 5 examples where Generative AI already affects daily life.

DAY 2 — Working of Generative AI + Generative vs Discriminative Models

Approach: Concept explanation + Real-world demos
NEP Alignment: Conceptual clarity + Computational thinking
• Recap using student examples
• Explain basic idea behind how generative models learn patterns:
 Large training dataset
 Model predicts/creates new similar data
• Compare:
 Generative Model (creates → GANs, VAEs, LLMs)
 Discriminative Model (classifies → Logistic Regression, SVM)
• Classroom demonstration:
 Use a pre-trained text/image generator
• Case Study Discussion:
“Why do generative models sometimes produce incorrect or biased results?”
Exit question: One key difference between discriminative and generative models.

DAY 3 — Applications of Generative AI

Approach: Hands-on tools + Team exploration
NEP Alignment: Multidisciplinary, Creativity
• Teacher shows applications across domains:
 Text → Story writing, translation, chatbots
 Images → AI art, design automation
 Audio → Voice cloning, music generation
 Video → Animation, digital avatars
• Hands-on Activity Stations (rotation groups):
Text generation tool, Image generation tool , Music generation tool
• Each group notes:
What input they gave
What output AI created
Quality & correctness of result
Homework: Collect 3 news or real cases of Generative AI being used in industry.

DAY 4 — LLMs + Create Your Own Generative AI Project

Approach: Guided project + Collaboration
NEP Alignment: Problem-solving & Project-based learning
• Teacher introduces LLMs (Large Language Models)
 Trained on huge datasets
 Understand & generate human-like language
 Examples: ChatGPT, Gemini, Llama
• Mini-Project:
Students select one domain:
Text (e.g., poem/story bot)
Image generation poster
Music snippet or short audio message
• They design prompts and generate content responsibly.
Reflection: What makes some prompts work better than others?

DAY 5 — Ethics + Building a Chatbot Using Gemini API

Approach: Case studies + Ethical Debate + Hands-on creation
NEP Alignment: Digital citizenship, responsible AI usage
• Teacher explains ethical, legal, and social issues:
 Deepfakes & misinformation
 Copyright of generated content
 Privacy & data misuse
 Job displacement concerns
• Mini-debate:
“Does Generative AI threaten or support human creativity?”
• Hands-on Task:
Students build a simple chatbot using Gemini API
 Guided steps provided by teacher (no coding or low-code format option)
 Students test chatbot response quality
Final Showcase:
Teams present their generated content + ethical guidelines they followed.
