Some people say that zoos have no useful purpose. Others believe that zoos are beneficial in
many ways.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
A diversity of animal species from leopards and eagles to lizards have been captured and kept in
zoos across the globe for centuries. This practice is sometimes considered to be one that violates
animal rights and causes these animals to lose their instincts. Despite these drawbacks, zoos are
still beneficial, as they provide humans with a great place to learn about animals, and endangered
animals with a great shelter.
Zoos, according to some, are valueless. There is a common belief that the act of caging an animal
is already a violation of animal rights. The matter can be even worse when some caged animals
are bullied, mistreated and exploited when they are forced to perform in shows aimed at
attracting visitors. Zoologists may also argue that these creatures may lose their natural instincts
while being captive, and as a result, they can be incapable of returning to the wild in the future.
A tiger, for example, may lose its hunting nature when it is fed on a daily basis.
However, it is strongly believed that zoological gardens are invaluable not only for humans but
also for the animals themselves. For young children and biology students, these venues can
provide a resourceful learning environment, where both an understanding of and love for nature
may easily evolve as physical contact with animals is possible. In addition to this, zoos have long
offered to thousands of endangered species a home where they could thrive and breed their
offspring. This is greatly important as over-hunting, deforestation and climate change have
threatened to destroy the natural habitats of some wild animals.
In conclusion, zoos are places where people learn about and develop their love for animals and
where endangered species are nurtured and protected. These advantages outweigh the
disadvantages, such as the chance that animals are exploited and bullied, or the possibility that
they gradually lose their instincts. All these disadvantages can be lessened if more is invested in
zoos to turn them into a better living space for animals.

It is better for college students to live on campus than to live at home with their parents. Do
you agree or disagree?
It is believed that undergraduates should stay in a dormitory instead of living at home with their
parents. While there are several advantages to moving out, I still believe that it depends on the
specific circumstances of students.
On the one hand, there are many benefits when students live on campus. Firstly, they would have
opportunities to become mature persons. For example, as they have to completely take care of
themselves, from cooking to tidying their living spaces, there is a possibility that they would
develop a sense of responsibility. Secondly, due to the short distances between the dormitory and
university facilities, students may have easy access to study areas, such as libraries or
laboratories. Finally, since students live near each other, they may create a network of
relationships with others from various backgrounds.
On the other hand, staying with parents is likely to help students use their time more efficiently.
To explain, students could have opportunities to focus more on actual academic activities, such
as studying, since they may share the burden of household chores with their parents. For
instance, instead of spending several hours cooking or washing clothes, they could spare this
amount of time doing homework. As a result, they are likely to achieve a higher academic
record.
In conclusion, moving out would be more beneficial for students in terms of self-development,
while staying with families is advantageous academically. It is recommended that students think
thoroughly before deciding whether they should live on campus.

In some countries, an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result
of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for the governments to impose a higher tax
on this kind of food. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Introduction
Recently, there is a school of thought that higher taxes should be imposed on fast food since it
has caused health problems to many people in various nations. While some believe that this
measure could prevent overconsumption, there has been a growing concern about whether it is
effective enough to deter people from eating fast food. In my opinion, despite the surrounding
controversies, taxing this sort of food is reasonable and necessary.
Conclusion
In conclusion, even though there are some concerns over the effectiveness of tax increase on fast
food, I would say that this could be seen as one of the most practical measures to discourage
people from overconsuming. It is suggested that along with imposing higher tax, the government
should introduce policies to encourage food manufacturers to produce healthier options, or use
fresh ingredients.

Some people think that mental strength is the most important factor for success in sports.
However, some others believe that it is more important to have strong and fit people. Discuss
both views and give your opinions.
Introduction
There is a common belief that a person's physical strength determines their level of performance
in sport. However, some argue that mental conditioning plays a more important role. From my
perspective, these two factors are equally important to some extent.
Conclusion:
To conclude, although there are some debates over the importance of physical and mental fitness,
I would say both qualities have the same significance in any professional sport. It is highly
recommended that sport athletes should pay equal attention to physical strength and mental
stability so that they could excel in performance.
