B (lead)[Kelsey]: Nervous to improve her life.
She is so used to having a worse off life; now
given an opportunity of a lifetime, an interview that could not just fundamentally change her life
but her as a person, she is scared. Scared to improve, scared to change and most of all scared
of what she could gain.
A (Supporting/Friend)[Hailey]: A true and caring person who wants nothing more than to see B
improve. She wants what's best for everyone. Though her biggest flaw is that sometimes she's
afraid to express what her opinion is out of fear of being seen as pressuring.
C (Supporting/Friend)[Layla]: The tough friend. She also wants what's best for B but rather than
being nurturing she is blunt and straightforward. Makes her intentions clear and forward. Her
biggest flaw is that she has issues expressing how she is feeling in a normal way. Though she is
still seen as a role model.
Main idea:
This scene is set right before a major job interview. B is about to walk in for an interview that
could significantly improve her life, but she’s extremely nervous and unsure whether she should
go through with it. A and C are her close friends who came with her for support. A is the
comforting, calming presence who reassures B and tries to ease her anxiety, while C is the
more direct, tough-love friend who pushes B to believe in herself and stop overthinking.
Throughout the scene, B questions whether she’s ready and keeps hesitating, while A and C
encourage her and guide her toward the interview room. The added character, D, gives one final
moment of reassurance before B walks toward the interview.
B: You have it? (nervous anxiously hyperventilating slightly, some sort of movement that feels
natural to do when nervous to help grab viewer attention)
A: Yes (to nurture, To place hand on shoulder)
B: And the place… (look frantically)
A: It is correct ( reassuring but also stating obvious)
C: Now listen (travel with B, to help gage understanding in a realistic way)
B: I’m Uncertain (to interrupt, truly scared)
A: you must proceed (to smile and yearn for her improvement)
B look over toward C
C: Go on (to approve, smile and be truly proud)
B Take a slight step and look away, wait a beat, look back
B: if there is a cost (not as nervous but more of a realization of change)
A: There is none (calling out what their life is like currently and reminding them that this is good)
C: This is for sure (Reality check, to tell B that this is happening)
A: Accept it (More blunt, telling B that this is happening and that its good)
B:(take a beat to take a deep breath): Fine(calm and finally accepting what's happening)
D/Aren: Are you ready? (Interviewer excited to meet new candidate)
C: (travel with A): Here we go (start of a new beginning and both truly proud of the change that
B is experiencing)
