Final Project: My Personal Biography (Audio Recording)

English Basic Course – Final Assignment

Objective

Record a 5-7 minute audio where you talk about your life using the present, past, and
future tenses that we studied in class.

Your Audio Must Include:

Present Simple – Your Life Now

Talk about your current life. You can include:


• Your daily routine

• Your hobbies and free-time activities

• Your family

• Your studies or work

• Things you like/don’t like

Example:
“I live in Orizaba. I study at the University of Veracruz on weekends and I work on weekdays. I
like playing soccer, listening to music,…”

Past Tense – Your Life Before

Talk about important or interesting moments from your past:


• Childhood memories

• What you did last year

• A special moment or trip

• Your last birthday

• Something you learned

Example:
“When I was a child, I played in a local team. Last year, I traveled to Cuernavaca….”
Future Tense – Your Plans

Explain your goals and plans for the future:

• Things you are going to do

• Your short-term plans

• Your long-term goals

• Personal, academic, or professional plans

Example:
“Next year, I am going to get a job. In the future, I want to travel to Canada.”

Requirements

✔ Length: 5 to 7 minutes
✔ Language: Clear English, using vocabulary from the course
✔ Tenses: Present simple, past simple, and future (going to / will)
✔ Pronunciation: Speak slowly and clearly
✔ Original work: Do not read from Google Translate or AI texts

Structure of Your Audio (Recommended)

1. Introduction

• Your name, age, nationality


• Where you live
• Your family
2. Present

• Daily routine, hobbies, family, studies/work

3. Past

• Childhood, an experience, something you did last year, your last vacation or
birthday

4. Future

• Your future plans, dreams, goals

5. Closing

• A final message

• “Thank you for listening.”


Tips for Success

• Write a short script before recording.

• Practice 2–3 times to improve fluency.

• Record in a quiet place.

• Check your pronunciation of difficult words.

• Keep it simple—use grammar and vocabulary from class.

FINAL PROJECT RUBRIC – AUDIO BIOGRAPHY (20 POINTS)

🗣️ Pronunciation & The student speaks clearly, uses correct 0–4 pts
Clarity pronunciation, and is easy to understand.

⏱️ Length (5-7 minutes) The audio meets the required time (not too short, 0–3 pts
not too long).

📘 Present Tense Uses the present simple correctly to describe 0–4 pts
current life, routines, likes/dislikes, etc.

📚 Past Tense Uses the past simple correctly to talk about past 0–4 pts
experiences or memories.

🔮 Future Tense Uses future forms (going to / will) correctly to 0–3 pts
explain future plans.

🎤 Organization & The audio has a clear structure (intro–present– 0–2 pts
Fluency past–future–closing) and ideas flow smoothly.
