ASSIGNMENT NUMBER (01)

NAME:
ROLL NUMBER: 44
DEPARTMENT: BS ACCOUNTING & FINANCE
SUBJECT: PERSONAL& COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
SUBMITTED TO: NASREEN KAUSAR

1. Organizing a Clean-up Drive in My Locality (wapda town ):

To promote cleanliness and environmental awareness, I organized a clean-up drive in my

community,Wapda Town. The activity was conducted for one week with the help of local volunteers,
students, and shopkeepers. We started by collecting plastic waste, sweeping the streets, and placing
dustbins in public areas. Pamphlets were distributed to spread awareness about the importance of
maintaining a clean environment. The Union Council provided garbage bags and a waste collection
vehicle. By the end of the week, the streets looked cleaner, and the residents appreciated the initiative.
This drive not only improved our surroundings but also encouraged people to adopt cleanliness as a
habit.
2. Initiating a Donation Drive for the Education of a Less-Privileged
Student:

During the second week, I organized a donation drive in Wapda Town to support the education of a
less-privileged student. I met with local shop owners, teachers, and families to collect funds, books, and
stationery. The response from the community was very positive. Together, we managed to cover the
school fee and buy uniforms and learning materials for a deserving student from a low-income family.
The experience was heartwarming as it showed the power of unity and compassion in helping others
achieve education. This initiative taught me the importance of giving back to society.
3. Voicing the Problems of My Locality to the Union Council :

In the third week, I visited the local Union Council office of Wapda Town to report some major
community issues such as poor street lighting, drainage problems, and lack of a proper waste disposal
system. I prepared a written report with photographs and signatures from residents supporting the
concerns. The Union Council assured that the complaints would be addressed soon, and within a few
days, the streetlights in one area were repaired. This experience made me realize how important civic
engagement is for community development.
Conclusion:

Through these drives, I learned valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and community service. The
activities strengthened the bond among residents and showed that even small efforts can bring
meaningful change when people work together
