GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Provide the student with a discussion of the problem of human rights in
contemporary perspective, through social movements and the documents
that consolidated a doctrine of human rights, with the scope that
we could qualify universal. Investigate the dynamics of the relationship between the
Federal Constitution of 1988 and human rights.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The main scope of this subject is to establish the understanding of
true meaning of human rights. The student body will have a perspective
critique of human rights and will understand that Brazilian democracy is
achieve the realization of human rights. The aim of the subject is
understand human rights as a fundamental principle of Law. And that
the Constitution of 1988 is a consequence of a movement for rights
humans that led to the democratization of the country, and that the process is still ongoing
in constant construction. The discipline, moreover, aims to educate
bachelors who fight for ethics and human rights upon entering the
labor market, since the main role of the law graduate is the struggle
for justice and for human rights.

2 - The Idea of Inherent Rights of the Person:
A - The foundations of Human Rights;
B - Natural Law and Enlightenment;
C - Critical Currents against the Bourgeois Idea of Rights.
3 - Estado de Direito e Proteção dos Direitos da Pessoa:
A- Constitutionalism;
B - The American and French Declarations of Rights;
C - The Universal Declaration of 1948 and the Universalization of Human Rights;
Module II: Human Rights and their protection at the internal level.
A - The 1988 Constitution and Human Rights;
B - Human Rights and Fundamental Rights;
C - Mechanism of Constitutionalization of Human Rights created by
Constitution of 1988;
D–Case studies of human rights violations: slave labor,
violence against women. The issue of children and adolescents. Protection for
elderly. Homosexual relationships. The condition of workers in plantations
from sugarcane, in the region of Catanduva.
