Installation for Batch Tutorial
Note 1: You should log in as a user with local administrator rights before installing
CitectSCADA Batch.
Note 2: You should use this Tutorial in with CitectSCADA Batch 1.1.
Note 3: This Tutorial can be used in conjunction with Citect 5.50 or Citect 6.0.
Note 4: It has been assumed in this document that the installation CD is drive “D:”. If the CD is
in another drive, “D:” should be replaced with the appropriate letter in the following
instructions.
Note 5: Before proceeding, read the introduction to the Batch Tutorial Instructions to decide
whether you want to undertake a Full Tutorial, Head Start Tutorial or Express Tutorial. You
will need to know this for Step 10.
1. Your PC must have Windows 2000 Professional or later installed.
2. Confirm that Citect 5.50 or 6.0 is installed in “C:\Program Files\Citect\CitectSCADA”.
3. If you are using Citect V6, install CitectSCADA Batch from Citect CD2. Instructions can
be found in the “CitectSCADA Batch V1.1r\Documentation\
WDK20030722_Installation_CTB_ASW_Guide_V1.[Link]”.
4. If using a Citect 5.50, the copy of CitectSCADA Batch supplied on the Batch Tutorial
CD should be used to install Batch.
5. Complete the CitectSCADA Batch installation as per the instructions.
6. To confirm successful installation, start the Recipe Editor.
7. Log in with User ID “999” and password “batch999”.

8. When you log in you may asked to change the password. If this happens change it to
“batch998”.
9. You should then see the Recipe Editor with the BatchExample database loaded as
shown. Note that the names BatchExample and Batch_Example can be used
interchangeably.

10. In the “Maintenance” select “Restore”
11. Leave “Current Project” selected and browse to the appropriate “Batch_Tutorial.bak”
file and click OK. There are three folders to choose from, they are…
D:\CITECTSCADABATCH\CitectSCADA Batch example & tutorial\Batch Tutorial\Full
Tutorial
D:\CITECTSCADABATCH\CitectSCADA Batch example & tutorial\Batch
Tutorial\Headstart Tutorial
D:\CITECTSCADABATCH\CitectSCADA Batch example & tutorial\Batch
Tutorial\Express Tutorial
In each folder there is an SQL backup file called Batch_Example.bak which should be
selected for Restore. The Full Tutorial backup is an empty database and the others at
different stages of completion.

12. Login in as “999” with password “batch999”. Refer to Item 22 if a new password is
requested.
13. After logging in and clicking OK to the final message, you will have an empty or
partially configured Batch Tutorial database.
14. You are now ready to start the Batch Tutorial at the “Full Tutorial”, “Head Start Tutorial”
or “Express Tutorial” entry points.
When the time comes to run the Batch_Example database you need also to install the
Batch_Example and CtB_Include Citect projects. Please refer to “Batch Example
[Link] for instructions on how this should be done. This document can be found at
