*Gulliver*: (In a low, hoarse, pleading voice.) I'm tied up! I can't move! Please, can
you hear me?! If you don't give me water, I'll die before nightfall... He struggles to
move his chest or hands. He moans.
*G. Redresal*: (Admiral Bolgolam, in a low voice.) Admiral, the Mountain Man is
begging! What do we do? If he dies here, the stench will be a terrible weapon
against us! He nervously pulls at his cloak. He looks at Gulliver and Bolgolam.
*A. Bolgolam*: (Shouting, nervously.) We have to kill him! Now! A weapon that size
doesn't deserve to live. General, why didn't you stab him in the eye with your spear
while he was asleep? It's the only solution! He moves very quickly and gestures
fearfully.
*M. Flimnap*: (With forced calm and concern.) Stop! Admiral, the murder of a living
being is costly. I calculated the freight to take the body to sea! We would need ten
thousand carriages!" He touches his forehead, pretending to do calculations in the
air.
*G. Redresal*: (Trying to impose order.) Silence! The Emperor wants submission,
not martyrdom. We must dehydrate him or feed him. But not kill him!" He stamps his
foot on the ground.
*Gulliver*: (More forcefully, upon hearing the word “food.”) Feed me, yes! Feed me! I
promise to be your faithful servant. Give me the smallest piece of bread!" He tries to
lift his torso with great effort.
*A. Bolgolam*: (Ignoring Gulliver and his companions.) He's seducing us! He's
using his giant tricks! We must shut him down! Bring the poison! He takes two steps
back, frightened by Gulliver's shout.
*M. Flimnap*: (To Bolgolam.) Poison? Do you know how much poison costs for a
creature of that size? Bread is much cheaper, Admiral! Feeding him bread and water
is the most economical option!" He approaches Bolgolam in a scolding tone.
*G. Redresal*: (Deciding.) Enough debate! The plan will be as follows: Gulliver, we
will feed you. In exchange, you will remain tied up and swear obedience." He stares
at Gulliver to impose his authority.
*Gulliver*: (With great relief.) I swear! I'll do whatever you ask, General. But hurry,
before this Admiral Bolgolam poisons me!" He collapses again, exhausted.
*M. Flimnap*: (Reluctantly.) Go get the bread and water. And, Admiral... prepare
your ships for a possible escape!" He leaves grumbling with Redresal to find food.
*A. Bolgolam* (Left alone, staring at Gulliver in terror.) Tomorrow, we'll shoot you
with an arrow. Tomorrow... (He mutters and runs off.) He runs in the opposite
direction to pretend he's going to his ship.
