Science is the study of the natural world
through observation and experiment. A
scientific explanation uses observations and
measurements to explain something we see
in the natural world. Scientific explanations
should match the evidence and be logical, or
they should at least match as much of the
evidence as possible.

process or method;

2. Gather background information.
3. Create a hypothesis.
4. Create a prediction and perform a test.
5. Analyze the results and draw a
conclusion.
6. Share the conclusion or decide what
question to ask next. Document the
results of your experiment.
