SUMMARY- CANTER VILLE

This video tells the story of The Canterville Ghost. It is about an American family
called the Otises who move to England and buy a very old house named Canterville
Chase. People warn them that the house is haunted by a ghost, but Mr. Otis, the
father, does not believe in ghosts at all. He thinks that modern people, especially
Americans like him, should not believe in old stories or superstitions.

Soon after they arrive, strange things start happening in the house. The ghost tries
many times to scare the family, like making noises and appearing in dark hallways.
But the Otis family is never afraid. Instead, they react in a funny and calm way. For
example, when the ghost shakes his chains, Mr. Otis only offers him oil to stop the
noise. The twin boys even play tricks on the ghost, which makes him feel
embarrassed and upset.

The ghost becomes very sad because he used to be a powerful spirit, but now
nobody respects him. The only person who shows empathy is Virginia, the daughter.
She feels sorry for him and understands that he has suffered for a long time. Through
her kindness, the story shows the importance of compassion and forgiveness.

In the end, the video highlights the difference between modern American attitudes
and traditional English beliefs, while also teaching that kindness is stronger than
fear.
