This week in Kindergarten we have been learning: In K1 we have . . .


l l l l l l l l Started our new topic which is about People and Places. Developed our number awareness. Worked on our reading program. Learnt about important places and food in Japan. Made our own Onigiri which where yummy. Developed and worked on our stroke order and penmanship. Used colourful crayons and dye to form a picture of Mt. Fuji and the rising sun. Looked at how to be a nice friend and talked about ways to be a better friend.

In K2 we have . . .
l l l l l l l l l l Been weighing things with scales Put on a rocking show for our parents and friends Found out what is smellier than cheese Cooked and been crafty at Anderson Park Learnt that everyone is better at hoolahooping than Mr. Larter Made a name necklace. Made some friends for our rainbow fish. Practiced writing our letters and numbers. Welcomed a new friend! Welcome to K2G Emma!!!

In Japanese class we have . . .

Talked about what we like, such as fruits and living creatures etc. and made own Suki-suki hat (hat with our favourite things). Read a story called Mokomokomoko and created a dance about it. Experienced paint on crayons.

In Japanese class we have . . .

Learnt about Mushiba Yobo Day and Tokino Kinenbi through craft activities, stories and discussion Practiced new songs: Hiragana Dekirukana? and Okina furudokei

In K3 we have . . .
l l l l l l Been looking at differences between fiction and nonfiction text. Been looking at how sea creatures move, and we have been moving like them in dance. Been looking at 2 and 3 digit numbers and partitioning them. We have begun to create our K3 ocean. We have been making sea creatures for the K3 ocean. Been excited about their assembly and trying hard to remember our words (K3Y).

In Japanese we have . . .
l l l l Enjoyed listening to story books called Hermit the Crab and Swimmy. Been singing Ookina noppono Furudokei and Amefuri Kumanoko. Learned how to make an angel fish using origami paper. Enjoyed Under the Sea and a cooking lesson (blue seaweed jelly with fish shaped peach and seaweed salad).

In K2 Green, Hanami said, Mr. Larter, you can come to Disney Land with me. In K2 Green Joe said, My daddy lollops on the sofa, while we were reading the book You Do. In K1 Green Teruki said, The bear was cute, thats why I took it home. In K1 Green Lisa said, Good job everyone, well done and dont forget to do your jobs. Kai in K3Y told Mr. Larter, My dad has more money then you. Miu from K3G said, about her pom poms ,they are cute so they are good for me.

Child Comments

Songs we are learning K1 Green We have learned Blue Bird Blue Bird and started to learn Nil Ahas Thale (Night Sky with the Moon) which is a Sri Lankan song. K2 Green We have learned how to do the Peanut Butter Stomp and have been practicing Seven Steps, The Rainy Song, 10 Little Monkeys and ABC Rap. In K3 we have been learning Under the Sea and The Bean Bag Song.

Trips or Event News l K2 Green had a fantastic time at Anderson Park. Thank you to all the mummies that helped out! l K3Y`s assembly is on Tuesday 19th of June at 10am. Please look out for the invitations next week.

Reminders/News
l Some children are still not bringing hats to school!! As it begins to heat up, a hat will be essential to stop children getting heat stroke! l If you do not wish for your child to drink tap water could you please provide your child with an extra bottle of water in their bag every day? For K1 children can leave it in their locker. l Please could we remind K3 parents that we have PE on Wednesdays and please could you send in your childs PE kits or a spare t-shirt. l Letters will be coming home soon with more details about Open Day.
